Where in Newcastle..???

Going with my friend on his sons 21st in Newcastle next sat night.
Having never been to Newcastle before was wondering where the best places were to drink and chat.
Looking to break away from the young-uns later on in the night and hopefully chat up some nice ladies who would like to join me at the hotel..
Can anyone recommend some places to frequent, and does any ladies or couples fancy meeting up for a chat...!!

Newcastle has about 5 different drink areas, depends what sort of pubs /clubs you want.
Bigg Market is (mostly) for kids.
Haymarket has "established" drinkers pubs, some rock bars.
Quay side is for slightly older people who still want really loud places.
Pink Triangle is gay friendly, tho a lot of straights get there as well.
Grainger Street is up market and expensive.
Plus of course there are loads of bars scattered around not in above catagories.
