Hi everyone
Is South Manchester near enough to attend a Wigan munch?
Great idea to have a munch in the NW - I've yet to attend one,
but they sound brilliiant!

If Burnley and Sth Manc are in the catchment area for a Wigan Pie Munch then is Bury ? If not then do we qualify being from the Chorley/Preaton area but moved away !!!!!!! If so then we would like to attend our first munch ! lol

Once we have an organiser we can sticky this post, or do a new one called Wigan Munch, as it looks like there are plenty of people interested........ just one thing missing at the mo :confused:

Hi, we would be interested in attending a Wigan Munch. Won't offer to organise it cause not a clue what to do, but would be more than willing to put some time into helping to arrange it? We just now need someone with loads of time on their hands to organise!
And can we have some Waterfield's pasties please (the large ones, I like large ones) :twisted: as well as the usual Wigan Pies?

That sounds like a dozen or so local people in a pub for a couple of drinks trying to get to know each other.

If it's just locals you're looking for then why don't you try something on a smaller scale for a change? It doesn't take as much effort to set up and the timescales are a lot shorter.
A few weeks ago djcouple arranged a ten pin bowling night in Burnley and there were 7 or 8 couples there. Admittedly most people already knew each other but it was a good social night out and gave people the chance to chat and acquaint themselves. Why don't you try for something similar?

would it be possible to have this on friday rather than a saturday night? We always work on saturdays, so never get the chance to go to the munches.

Looks like this has died R.I.P. :upset: :upset:
We just need someone to agree to kicking it off and get the basics organised then I am sure a lot of us nice 'Wiggin' folk would be more than happy to help out. Perhaps we could just organise an 'outing' or we could arrange something in 'Dave and Mandy's Mates pub!
Come on, Wigan is supposed the be the capital of the Swinging World, lets not let this die just yet!!!!!!!!

we are in disscussion with another couple with a viw to arranging something so if one of you adopted wigannas could move this to a sticky we will get in touch when we had ameeting and know venue dates etc etc

well we have had a get together with a really nice wigan couple and we are setting the wheels in motion for a minimunch at the end of november probably
will sort out the time and place and then the list can start

we are just starting to outline plans for the munch so will be starting a new thread soon and start to get a list together we have the venue for the munch sorted just need the date sorting out but we are thinking first week in dec or first week in feb
so will keep you updated

Just seen this thread (been on holly-bobs) and as I live less than 2 miles from the Wigan border I'd like to come as well if possible. Never been to a munch so definitely not volunteering to organise it though!!
