Ah the 70’s
Best years of my life, Spent the early / mid 70’s in Germany (Pad Brat) so we were always 3 months behind the latest UK fashions and wouldn’t know what was ’hip’ until someone came back from leave, then it would be frantic phone calls to the rellies in Blighty saying, can you send me this, can you send me that lol
Someone mentioned ‘tank tops, high waisters and DM boots’ redface god we thought we looked so bloody cool :lol2:
Us lads hated the Bay City Rollers coz all the girls loved them rolleyes
Watching the Professionals then off to get pissed , frantic fumblings and a knee trembler behind the youth club rotflmao
76 we got posted to NI, god it was hot, I remember noticing how dry and brown everything was, both through Europe and back in blighty, then we crossed over to NI and everything was lush and green, amazing.
The following year, 77, I remember sitting in a bar with some friends just outside Londonderry when the news came through that Elvis had died, we all got quite pissed that night and sang our hearts out to the likes of Blue Suede Shoes and Heartbreak Hotel.
OMG  I just remembered the craze of folding our shirt cuffs out over the outside of our leather jackets surprisedops: :rotflmao:
Great thread MrsFC
Good days.

70's was training college ... starting work and then coming to the UK for me. I was still wearing mini skirts... yeah I had legs in those days. Loads of travelling round UK and Europe and being able to stay up all night and still function the next day. Ah those were the days!! :silly:
Ahh the 70s. First shag 1970, first threesome with a married couple 1974, never looked back. We had all the best music, the best time to be a teenager & the most freedom to do whatever we wanted.

I did too and beg my parents to let me stay up and watch The Sweeney on sunday nights biggrin
Quote by SuperDave
SuperDave, you are my new best friend wink I keep agreeing with you on your posts, curly wurlies were a Friday treat for us and I loved S & H. My friend and I used to play it as a game and we were their girlfriends respectively (mine was Starsky!) Ah the memories

Pink I'm guessing that you might also remember "SWap-shop", drinking cider in the school field on summer evenings, the song "Tiger feet" and "The Sweeney" (if your mum let you watch it!)
Ahhh SuperDaveI loved Swap Shop, I was far too goody goody to watch Tiswas! Not into the Sweeney though, more boys stuff I presume.
Also loved saturday tea (on the trolley in the lounge - special treat) watching The Generation game, used to love it! Always waited for Anthea's twirl to see what lovely dress she'd be wearing and we'd all try to remember the items on the conveyor belt. As mad as we were we'd often try the routines they did too, like morris dancing around the lounge!
My boyfriend (at the tender age of 10) had a yellow chopper and let me ride on the back - real love!
