Hi there, we've had both and we've loved both equally because each occasion was unique.. as long as both sides are enjoying themselves then you will have a blast no matter how many are present!
I don't think its about 'having any luck' really its about getting to know the people and being totally at ease with each other, the rest will come.

I have in the past been fortunate to try both threesomes and foursomes, and even group activity. All were enjoyable in their own right, it comes down to whether you need to fulfill a specific fantasy perhaps. I now enjoy certain bi experiences and am fairly open minded, but before I explored that option I still considered the mmf option to be the most rewarding.
