Predictions?
England did well against Wales this evening.. a team renewed and at last playing like a team
Still, wait for France v Scotland tomorrow eh?
It's going to be an interesting 6N GnV with the world cup around the corner and a lot of players out to prove themselves in the eyes of the selectors. So a great start by England with some big performances by key players who rose to the challenge.
France v Scotland..... It's a shame both teams can't lose!

How true!
Seriously though, a good start for England - and our next three games are at home. All that bodes rather well.

Mmmmmmmm rugby men, dirty, chunky wrestling on the field ooooow heaven.....did any of the teams score lol
Very interesting that the selectors played JW after they had earlier said that they wouldn't select any player in future who plays for a non English club. JW signed another 3 year contract at Toulon just recently, so what was that all about?
Wondered the same thing myself GnV. Maybe they were trying to put the frighteners on other English players moving abroad?
All I can say for JW is I am always glad to see him in a white shirt. He's back to his best after such rotten bad luck with injuries after the 2003 WC and if you were the opposition and saw him coming on you would know he's not going to be the weak link in either England's defence or attack.
Emile Ntamck was never the same again after this tackle by JW
He's undoubtedly England's best kicker but Toby Flood last night showed every sign that JW has been coaching him well.
Just finished watching the last of this weekends games and I can only say that whilst England won, there is no way that they played to their maximum ability, having said that no man deserved man of the match more than toby flood.
Ireland were very lucky to win and great to see Italy upping their game.
As for France Scotland, incredible fast game and although they lost, what a performance from the scots against an incredible show of strength from the French, some great tries amid what was a fantastically entertaining game.
Lets hope the rest of the competition keeps the same level of excellence and look forward to the world cup (stock up on the wine lol ).

Apart from Tom Palmer.
What a great afternoon of rugby for the neutral observer. Ireland squandered so many chances and I really feel for Italy who will win one of their fixtures based todays. As for the other game I thought the Sweaties were in for an absolute tonking after conceding a try in the first couple of minutes but recovered well and played their part in a highly entertaining game.
Roll on the next round

Another weekend promise of some very good rugby...
Pour moi, Sunday between Ireland and France will be a decider; will France be able to replicate last years' grand slam? This will be their first away from home territory where they are strongest. Indeed, they only have 2 matches in the whole tournament at the SdF.
I predict: England over Italy; Scotland over Wales; France over Ireland.

England over Italy...
Wales over Scotland
Ireland over France (just)
Brilliant first half for England... playing like proper internationals!
At last, a really exciting match to watch
Incredible performance by England. What a match!! World class.
On that performance, I wouldn't be surprised if they won the Grand Slam.

You mean one of these?
Wowowoweeeee :eeek:
England v France, now that was a nail biter :thrilled:
Good match England v France.
I really can't understand why the French didn't play their best players from the off. Chabal is now past his sell by date and should have been played in the last 20 minutes as before and Morgan Parra should have been taking the early kicks which could have secured France's victory. They knew that playing the England side at Twickenham was going to be fraught with danger so experimenting too much was an odd strategy to say the least.
Well done England and if they win the Grand Slam this year, it will be well deserved.
Yes a very good match.
Speaking as someone coming from Wales but having French connections England were definately better by far. France spent most of their time trying to fend off the English attack and very little on the offensive. Won't be shouting for England but they look set for the top this year.
