As some of you know i have been ill for sometime.I was also made redundant in August during the time in which i was off i havent been working as i dont feel have been going through a financial nightmare because of it.
So i was ahving a ponder about maybe going back to my previous place of is telesales and doesnt exactly take much effort.
So after a great conversation this morning i am going back on Friday, just to work a few hours a week and see how i manage with it. biggrin :D :D
So iam bloody excited and chuffed at the thoughts of being able to earn some money again, esp so close to christmas :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
So please wish me luck as i pray i can mange it without making myself any worse confused
Good Luck Clare!!!!
You're obviously being very brave. Just don't worry about it, you can leave at any time if it becomes too much.
Genious idea starting on a Friday by the way.
Clare I know what its like honey to be under financial pressure cause of ill health .. my hubby and I were both ill and out of work last year and it almost got to the stage where we had to sell our home from under us which was a nightmare as we had nowhere to go but just weren't able to pay our bills.
Glad to say a miracle happened and we were saved from that aweful fate.
Best of luck .... DD kiss
Great news clare, congratulations on your triumph! Sounds like its been a rough few months for you both, but i'm sure this has given you both a huge lift at this time of year. Maybe your post, and devondelights, should be a lesson to those of us (me definately included) who have a good moan about our jobs and employers.
Best wishes to you and steve, good luck hun. biggrin :D :D
Good luck on the going back to it hun It will be hard after illness and time off but i am sure you will find it does you the world of good.
biggrin Thanks guys kiss
i'd hate all that insecurity - been working for this lot for 20 years now, and i am only 38 !
the closest i got to losing everything was when the ex wifes solicitor got stuck into me going through the divorce !
she had a £200k house, my car, my kids and my dog - i got £6000 and all her debts !
Good Luck - think how much better Xmas will be with that bit of extra money x

Great news Clare,

I am very concerned, Clare.
If you're made redundant, it means that that particular job no longer exists, as it is actually the role that is redundant, not the employee. (That is the Law)
I'd check into this, if I were you.
Therefore, if your employer did call this a redundancy there would be no job to return to.
The employer would be bound by Law over severance pay and you would be entitled to Job Seekers Allowance from day one. Also, you would get WFTC and all it's associated benefits.
Your Mortgage Protection Plan will have been in force, after a redundancy, too.
Look into it quick... if you don't action these things now, your company will get away with sacking you, whilst you were off sick (very dodgy legally) by calling it redundancy. If the job is now available again and if they did not give you all your rights, as an employee, under a redundancy, then this sounds like a dodgy employer.

Good one Vix. smile
I had the same thought and wanted to look it up further before I said anything here but you've done it already.
:)
Thanks for your concern but i mean im going back to the employer i worked for previous to the one where i got made redundant from.I was on a month to month rolling contract and there was a take over so there were redundancies all over the anyways biggrin

Good news Clare and good luck with it, I sincerely hope it works out for you.
It's funny being on this site, there are so many people who have experienced what it is like to either lose or almost lose everything. The way things are going, we are possibly (probably more like), going to lose our home in the first few months of the new year. I run my own (failing) business and H doesn't work cos of her illness
Cos of the business we have run up a shit load of debt that I am personally responsible for (It isn't a limited company). Yes I worry a lot about it, but seeing what others have been through (and survived) it sort of gives me hope that we too can get through this as well.
Sorry for the hijack, but sometimes it helps I guess dunno

Good luck Clare, fingers crossed for both job and health.
Its good to hear that other people have problems too,not just us lol
Thanks again for the well wishes kiss
Clare,
I dont know the ins and outs but it sounds like you and Steve have had a time of it, Wish you the very best of LUCK both for Friday and the future.
Sounds like this has been a crap year for so many, have not heard of one person having a stroke of Luck this year and I for one cant wait to see this year out, its been a bloody curse.
Oh and Clare, stuff Christmas think of the January Sales ! Whoopi
I don't want to put a downer on your good news and good luck but I'm going to anyway biggrin Sorry :D
Please prepare yourself for the fact that you may not manage to do it, this early into being ill.
If you don't mentally prepare yourself for this possibility it can have an extremely debilitating effect on you mentally and physically.
I'm not saying don't try but keep it into perspective.

I know exactly what your saying and im very aware of starting by doing just 3 hours 3 times a week, with days inbetween for a thanks for the warning.
Good on yer Clare. Hope it all works out for you and that you're feeling better soon.
Good luck Claire I really hope your day goes well.
I think you will be fine the first day back is the hardest and once you have that under your belt, you can build from there by taking one day at a time.
I have had 2 months off work with stress and only returned last friday.I have a business with two other partners.
I started back with a two day week and this week has been my first full breakdown of my relationship took it out on me and I needed time out to get myself on my feet.
But the guilt of leaving my partners to run the business and what they thought of me did worry me.
But your health is the most important thing and youve got to put yourself first everytime.
If you need any advice/support please pm ive been through it.
It does get easier. biggrin
Lawrie
