So what is your favourite Christmas Carol version?
There are dozens of versions out there, some hardly recognisable as coming from the pen of Mr Charles Dickens, the great master of early Victorian social drama.
Which do you like best?
My personal favourite is the Muppets CC, closely followed by the Patrick Stewart version - both incredibly close to the book. Although I'm sure the rat and the blue plushie were originally included by Mr Dickens and had to be cut out for fear of offending the more mature readers. :giggle:
I looove the muppets christmas carol, but for me there is only one true christmas carol and my favourite. The old black and white one with Alistar Simm, I remember watching it as a kid with my mum and dad and absolutely loved it. I was mesmerised by it and even now make the effort to watch it when its on. Oh happy memories. and a good old bah humbug :giggle:

I tried to add a Bah Humbug option but it hasn't come up - don't know what went wrong LOL.
We watched the Alistair Sim version today - it wasn't bad. The Kelsey Grammer one is awful. biggrin It's like the one they are trying to make in the background of Scrooged.

I noticed that there can now be no more than five options on a poll thread even though there is no indication of this when you first set the poll up As you can't preview the actual poll either your not this to know until you have submitted the topic.
As for 'A Christmas Carol' I do like the older stuff so its Alistair Sim for me.

Bugger. Ah well, no-one gets to be a Bah Humbug this year then. :giggle:
I fancy a Christmas Samantha, Christmas Sandra or a Christmas Stella (I'm working my way through the S's at the mo!)
I'll even settle for a Christmas Ruth if there's one going redface (though for some reason the S's are my current fave).
Gotta be Alistair Sim
Well im sorry i can't see a frog as Tiny Tim.
I've only seen the Muppet one .... says a lot about me I guess :giggle:
I saw Scrooged and loved that ;)
it was a bit of a turkey wasn't it?

It's got to be the Alistair Sim version without a doubt closely followed by Scrooged for a giggle :giggle:
Hmmmm... I do love a Christmas Carol hump
Oooh why do I bother?
You lot shud know by now I have absolutely nothing constructive to add to any post! redface
Just watching a new (?) version with Ross Kemp as a loan shark called Eddie Scrooge (ITV3). It isn't too bad at all - quite inciteful, but I'd have to see if it grows on me. Cute black guy playing Xmas future though biggrin
