Having been watching channel 5 tonight and the moments that made you cringe during the eighties, I have to say, so many things on the programme I remembered and god, did I cringe. That said, they had Mr Fish and the hurricane at number 1 with shell suits at number 2 – for me, shell suits definitely should have been number 1.
Anyway, it did make me think about stuff that I cringe about from my youth.
Does anyone look back and think – “why, why the hell did I do that” and that cringe moment comes on.
So come on, spill the beans, what was it.
Why on earth I am posting this just before a munch heaven knows, but I will tell you mine.
Back in the good old days, I was into rock music big time and when frequenting what was in those days disco’s rather than night clubs, often a rock song was played.
My cringe moment – Me, in the middle of the dance floor with my imaginary guitar, doing the head shaking bit with all those disco fever kids looking on bewildered.
**whispers this and hopes it late enough no-one will care **
Before I got all gothy as a teenager I was a ...... wait for it ... Duran Duran and a Howard Jones fan !!!!!
I would discuss the clothes that I wore that now make me cringe but I note they are all coming back into style ... arghhhhhh

I leave you lot alone for a few hours to discuss cringing moments and what happens - a thread about cringing turns into a discussion about pop bands!!
Sheesh guys
smackbottom :smackbottom: :smackbottom: :smackbottom:
Can we get back on track now biggrin :D :D
Let's bring it back on track......
Late 1980's. Me. White jeans. White T-shirt. White "blouson" jacket. Dunlop Green Flash. Middle of the nightclub dance floor doing the dance from Saturday Night Fever - badly.
In my defense I was very, very drunk redface
:laughabove: :laughabove: :laughabove:
OMG - That made me cringe even remembering the movie
Dancing round a handbag after sneaking into a club underage.
I was a punk in the 70's, does that date me?

Ahhh the stuff dreams are made of ..............
Was it the complete thing - did you have spikey hair and safety pins
and do you pictures :rascal:
I've probably got too many things to be able to pick one out.
I know when I was very young I asked my Aunty why her teeth stick out and she looked like a horse. Think I spent the rest of the evening in bed redface
Getting caught with a porno mag under my bed at 15 didn't go down well. I forgot my Dad needed to mend the leg of the bed I'd broken surprisedops:
Ians brother walked in on me wanking Ian once, yet again, I was only 15
I don't have time to continue and probably best I don't but I'll leave you with a picture I've posted before which now makes me cringe

bolt

Oh bugger - I will have to come back to this - I should have left 15 minutes ago!
:bolt:
OMG Dawnie, that pic could have been of me ! redface
Big hair, even bigger shoulder pads, those horrible baggy bleached jeans that made your arse look like a barrage balloon ( these days my arse really IS the size of a barrage balloon confused ) Crap music with very few exceptions, jacket sleeves rolled up to your elbows, shite tv, poodle rock and my first husband.
Plenty for me to be embarrassed about................and no, there is no surviving photographic evidence
