Waterfalls
The sound of waves breaking and receding on a shingle beach
The reflected golden hue of a sunset on a range of snow covered mountains .
A sunrise watched from a mediterranean beach with a beer in hand sharing profound comments with a good mate ..
A firework that fills the whole night sky with colour
The wave that sweeps over you as you watch your children do something that makes you so proud your eyes brim over and you have to swallow that non existent lump in your throat.
The moment of first contact of lips on lips giving rise to that warm glow that radiates through your whole body subsequently .
A smile
Well done Nice. Excellent sentiments there and ones with which I wholeheartedly concur.
My own list (well tonight anyway - different moods can produce different thoughts though some of these are definitely permanent fixtures):
Sex - fairly obviously, but the part I like best is lying together afterwards and just holding each other. Nothing needs to be said, but everything is felt. Someone (I think it was Libra-love) said "Lying spoons". That fits this moment perfectly.
Music - A lasting passion throughout my life. Everything from Medieval music through to contemporary classical and rock and pop. I have very wide ranging tastes and can appreciate anything that is genuinely good.
Food and wine - One (or is that two?) of the great pleasures of life.
Good company - Makes the above all the more enjoyable.
Laughter - sure to follow when the previous two are mixed.
My favourite thing of all is.............waking up with Sappho. Sorry if that is slushy, but waking up and seeing her next to me makes everything worthwhile and always takes my breath away.
This weekend had all the above! Sappho, me, Kit and Kat sharing lots of food and wine, listening to music and yes, there was plenty of laughter. Woke up next to my beloved Sappho and rounded it all off with some truly mindblowing sex.
What more could one want in a weekend (or any other time, come to that)?
