Do you long for the days of java when you could click a number and the ad would popup in your browser while chatting.
Well those days are now here again but this time using your favourite chat tool - mirc.
What you need to do is go to the scripts window via the Tools->Scripts Editor menu option and paste the following into the 'remote' tab...
; smartlinks for swingingheaven - created by richardm v2
on $^1:HOTLINK:m/+/:#swingingheaven:{
}
on 1:HOTLINK:*:*:{
var %start = $1
var %num = $1
while ($regsub(%start,/(.*)(+)/,1,%start)) { }
if ($regsub(%start,/(.*)(?smile/,3,%num)) { }
run http://photos.swingingheaven.co.uk/photo-adverts/swingers- $+ %num $+ .html
}
Then as if by magic you can perv directly from mirc.
This has been a public service wossname..please let me know if you find this useful.

Well I tried it, and I have to say I'm rather impressed!! Well done Richard! kiss
Now if someone types in the main room and they have their ad number as part of their name, I can double click the name and a new window opens in my browser with the ad on it. Go Rich!! :bounce:
Very usful!
I have other scripts, one for nmtp servers if anyone is interested, and I can make/get any scripts for you if you need somthing for mIRC then pm me smile
Feck me :shock:
I followed the instructions and it worked...........something to do with computers and I got it to work biggrin

I used to work for BT broadband, Microsoft and HP in tech support, all in call centers, now the good thing was getting somthing to work and the customer being happy, the bad thing was customers didnt know left from right.
Try saying whats up there to some person whos suddenly forgotten left from right, it makes it difficult.

Can I just say that while the script that Richard has put up is a good idea for those used to the photo ad jump in Java we dont encourage people to have all sorts of scripts running whilst they use the chatroom......
If you are thinking of passing on any scripts Mr_Roll please could you run them by one of the OP's first. Ta biggrin

Crude but simple. Open your script editor and paste the following line into the alias page:
/ad /url http://photos.swingingheaven.co.uk/photo-adverts/swingers- $$?="Ad number?" .html
Close your script editor.
Now just type /ad in the text line and this will trigger a pop-up box asking for the ad number. Enter the ad number and click 'ok'. Your IE browser should take you straight to the ad.

The simple solutions are often the best, I know there is a problem with the script of mine at the moment as if there is a nick of the type blah20blah12345 it'll take you to 2012345. But as my brain has gone on strike for the rest of the day I'll sort it out another time.
Neat solution.
It can be made slightly simpler if your function buttons are free to use. Some scripts like Scoop etc will have assigned your function buttons but if you're using basic mIRC then you can change the /ad at the beginning to /f9 (or any free function button) giving you:
/f9 /url http://photos.swingingheaven.co.uk/photo-adverts/swingers- $$?="Ad number?" .html
All you need to do then is press F9 and the pop-up box will appear. Type in the ad number, press OK and you should be taken straight there (depending on the speed of the ad server lol )
