can anyone recommend a good pop-up ad zapper that we could download free?
Thanks
Just switch your browser to
Firefox: Kills all known pop-up ads, dead.
we had loads of problems it was a night mare but we installed stopzilla and never looked back since!
We did have to pay a small fee but it was well worth it!!!!
Hope u get sorted soon
goodtimez cpl xx
If you using IE (and I love firefox as well now) you can grab to google toolbar for free. It pretty good and has a pop up blocker.

thats the best ad ware and data miner removal tool available free

and theres a real good pop-up stopper
weve used both for ages , and unlike many free programs they update them properly and regularly free of charge .
For the record we havent really needed them much since we installed AOL 9 which catches virtually everything ( but that would mena joining AOL and we dont want the ISP debate again ) good luck .

I'd certainly agree with this. I've switched to Firefox now (and if you can, just do, it makes life easier), but when I used IE the Google toolbar pop-up killer was the best of many that I tried.

agreed, although I prefer mozilla. then the first thing you should do is type "mouse gestures" into google and install it. FANFLIPPINTASTIC!! never again will I have to go ALL the way to the top of the browser to navigate lol
edit: the mouse gestures plugin is at then click "installation" on the blue bit, and "install mouse gestures 1.0". this only works in mozilla based browsers such as firefox, but is cross platform for the penguin lovers among you.
I'd also recomend going into settings and switching on mouse trails once you install it so you can see what you're doing (at least until you get used to it). there's a list of default gestures although you can add your own too
yep Firefox is the dogs bollox, but it takes a bit of faffing around setting up and downloading extensions to get it just so, but once done it's fantastic.
adblocking and popup blocking has pages loading waaaay faster than in IE, with much less in the way of nasties, and being able to middleclick on a dozen threads and having them all open as background tabs. excellent. not to mention foxytunes / mousegestures / themes etc etc etc . . . . who needs bill gates? dunno

SP2 for windows has a built in pop-up blocker. It's not bad, but you will need to install SP2 which I know a few people have had major problems with.
I've just started using Firefox and it's taking a bit of getting used to, but it does have some good features (like "tab" browsing) and some features that are like IE, but not quite the same.
I do a lot of bookmarking in favorites and Firefox handles them in a slightly different way.
*hijack* is there any way to clear/stop the auto complete on the address bar at the top and can you get rid of the google search address bar next to it, as I never use the blummin thing confused :? :? :? :? */hijack*

autocomplete is in the preferences (smart browsing section in Moz). mozilla is almost the same, but the google search is built into the address bar.
bookmarking is great once you get used to it as you can put links on your toolbar, and bookmard a tab group too!

easy,
to get rid of the google search bar, or any icon in the address bar, just right click the address bar, click customise, then drag the google bar onto the customise toolbar page. not sure on autocomplete. can't find the thingie wossisname. ;) possibly tools menu/options/privacy/saved form information/clear save checkbox? dunno
