Hi all, I have been a member for a few months and after reading some of the posts that 'newbies' have posted, they seem to get shot down in flames quite often. I suppose I will still be looked apon as a newby but this has made me very shy in regards to replying to any posts in The Cafe. :cry: But I have built up the currage and I don't no what to put lol.
Did anyone else feel like they were intruding on someone elses conversation the first time they replied to a post?
At a glance it seems the same people reply to many of the posts, thats all.

No mate ! They mean no harm ! Look at me for example ! I've been told I'm a minger ! My pants suck ! I'm middle aged and lucky to have got there ! I'm a tw*t ! (and that was a mod)... But am I bitter ........ ? No I love the abuse it makes me feel welcome.... It's a better thing to be noticed than to be ignored... Plus you get your thread bumped ! i have noticed that alot of the sarcastic/mocking comments have stopped to a certain extent since the site changed to its newer format! i was in a similar situaltion, posted a bit but everything i said seemed to be greeted with sarcastic comments, then came back on here again recently and things seem to have changed for the better! everyone seems friendlier now! so my advice would just be to go for it and post away! keep things sensible though and things should work out for you

this happens far less frequently than it used to lel7 i think that most "newbies" posts are either A) very stupid (single males mostly) B) or slightly misguided as to what the site is about!! i am known to stick up for "newbies" who i think have been thread hijacked unfairly and have made this opinion clear on the forums several times.
some however deserve the stick, some get a bit but this is a bit of a tester at times to see if they can hack it and have the resolve to grit their teeth and jump into the forums (which are excellent fun at times).

It's easy to assume people are blanking you if they don't quote you or reply to you, but it often just means that you've said everything that needs to be said, or that nobody disagrees with you - or in your case, they think about replying but decide to go to you blinkz link first and get distracted
