I have recently been watching the television series Fight for Life which was on tonight, and i have to say that it is one of the most amazing television series i have ever seen.
It really hits on some serious topics relating to the way we look after our bodies and makes me evaluate my health without being seen to try to do so,which i think is the best way.
The programme also has some of the best surgery and inside body footage i have ever seen (being already in awe of surgeons and doctors for their amazing work)and shows how our bodies adapt, change and cope with a multitude of diseases, illness and trauma from stab wounds to stroke. I wish more programmes of this caliber were put on television as i really think its ground breaking, thought provoking and thoroughly interesting even to those that "this type of thing" doesn't normally appeal to!!
So, now you know my TV heaven, what television programmes/ shows or events have you seen that have stopped you in your tracks or you vividly remember for one reason or another??
Fairly recently it was Wolfman. Years ago I watched a series called Survivors and I've never forgotten it.

Hectors House was pretty cool lol
OMG that was my absolutely favourite kids program smile
That's Life with Esther Rantzen.
It made me change my mind as a child from being buried with all my organs to deciding if I die to donate my organs.
Still remember it now.
gosh, this has really made me think.......
I remember the 'thats Life' camapign for little Ben Hardwick BCU
I have seen so many memorable things on TV, as an ex operating theatre technician, I love all the real life surgery stuff, so watch and enjoy those as much as I can.
Two of the most memorable things I can think of were the coverage of the death and funeral of Princess Diana, and the CNN and Sky coverage of the terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers. Unforgettable, moving and a whole host of other emotions too.
But I think THE single most unforgettable thing was the unfolding of the Hillsborough disaster before my eyes on TV, and the subsequent coverage of the aftermath in the days to follow.

I agree. This had me glued to the TV. My heart is also with the recent flood victims.
Srne, I've watched a few of the 'Fight for life' and I've found it fascinating how it shows your body going to work after accidents.
But my one main emotional viewing is an advert - NSPCC, the advert that shows the children who've been hurt by people they know
Planet Earth.
I've watched loads of nature programmes over the years and seen all of David Attenborough's work but this series blew me away.

Found the videos at a boot fair a while back and watched the whole series again !!! it was good even the second time around ...a bit dated and crap acting but had a lot to say !!
Oooh I would love to see that again. I think an internet search is in order now I'm thinking of it :P
Does anyone remember the Singing Ringing Tree from the 60s? I watched it first when I was about 5 and it scared the crap out of me  :scared: I still remember bits of it to this day and managed to get it on dvd. Watched it today while I was ironing and it was great to see it again biggrin
the bear freaks me out :scared:
I haven't had a chance to properly look at this site but it seems pretty good biggrin
Blake's Seven - I watched every episode fantasising about going into space. And fancied the pants off Avon.
Early doors - Comedy only ever shown on Beeb 2 written and staring the actor who plays Jim Royle's son in law; pure genius. It's set in a tiny pub in Manchester with a handful of locals who are all fantastic characters in their own way.
On of my favourite bits was where one of the 'normal' blokes in the pub was talking to a woman who was intellectually challenged, shall we say:
Him: I was told at the age of 12 I was diabetic and had a choice to make, a life ahead of injecting myself daily with insulin or die.
Her: Oh that's terrible........which one did you choose?
Maid Marian and her Merry Men. lol
For a moment I thought that this thread was about mebiggrin

There was a program that has stuck with me since I was little, I can't remember the name but it was this little girl who drew pictures of big rocks in the dark outside her house.
Every time when she looked out of the window, the rocks got closer and closer, and they were murmurming - OMG it was scary and still chills me now 30 odd years later!
Don't think so - maybe if no one else has heard of it though... confused
You'd have to be early 40s to have seen it, I think.
