There is quite a good thing you can get on prescription. I've not got any in and I can't remember the name of it. I call it cement. It is a sort of cement stuff in a tube you put it on and then it goes hard and forms a protective layer over the ulcer. Very weird but not especially strong tasting and does seem to word and provide some immediate relief by sort of sealing off the ulcer from the air.
I suffer from them quite badly they can make you quite fed up.
soz can't remember name - but could be worth a call to the doc - live yoghurt is very bad for them so give that a miss - I hope they clear up soon
Cheers

I'd give your local dentist a ring and ask him/her for advice or orthodontist. You acn usually buy a mothwash at your local chemists dont know name but its a purpley colour and only costs a pound usually works. However, to have that many is unusual so it may be worth going to GPs after all. May have picked something up that has beenb sexually transmitted, dose not have to be gential contact or anal can be passed orally. Be safe check it out

i agree with easynow... i was gonna say bonjela, it taste like crap hurts like helll
On a serious note you should get a 2nd opinion as 30 ulcers seems a little OTT. and your doctor seems a little incompitent, or maybe go to your dentist and book yourself in
I think Corrie is correct. You can treat them when you've got them but you won't get rid of them unless you treat the underlying cause.
Lots of fruit, or even multi-vitamin tablets will help.
And, God dare I say it, alcohol doesn't help because it can cause the body to wash out all the goodness in your blood.
And of course there's the old standby, lots and lots of water.

I was always under the impression they were caused by an excess of acid in the mouth.
This can be counter acted by gargling with salt water a few times a day.
This helps to balance the ph level.
Clorodsyl mouthwash is good for mouth ulcers.
I recently discovered Frador, you get it from the chemists, paint it on , and it numbs them . Also gets rid of them quicker than anything else ive ever tried.
You also need to look at your diet and see if you are getting enough zinc. If not get a good supplement, not a cheap one.. May be worth including more seafoods in your normal diet, unfortunatley I cant as a im veggie.
Anyway good luck , unless you have had mouth ulcers you cant understand how something so small can cause so much pain and take over your like.
In times like this I have a standard cure, I google...
here's some places to get over the counter advice;
the second one is a survey where people have left information on what works or doesn't work for them so you can see the most popular/effective cures.
Hope you get better quickly,

Despite the common occurrence of mouth ulcers and vast amounts of research, the cause of these irritating sores is still not completely understood. However, by far and away the most common cause is the infection of an injury in the mouth. These injuries can be cuts, abrasions or burns.
A mouth ulcer affects the softer areas of the mouth, for example the tongue and cheeks. The surface layer of the skin is removed leading to the formation of the ulcer which usually appears circular with a yellow or white centre and a raised red rim. It is because of the removal of the skin layer that nerve cells are exposed causing the associated pain.
You should not attempt to treat a mouth ulcer yourself if:
you are pregnant
you are diabetic
the ulcer has an uneven colouration
the ulcer is causing you no discomfort or pain
it is your first mouth ulcer
it has been present for more than 14 days
it is larger than 1cm in diameter
you take any other medication
These products contain ingredients which act to prevent the sensation of pain. They usually contain an anaesthetic which is applied directly to the ulcer. After some initial stinging while the anaesthetic starts to work the area will become numb.
Care should be taken with hot food and drinks as further damage can be caused to the ulcer while it is numb.
Some examples of the anaesthetics used are benzocaine and lidocaine.
Also available is an ingredient called choline salicylate which is related to aspirin. This pain killer works at the site of the ulcer in the same way as the analgesics or pain killers. This means that they are generally longer acting than the anaesthetics.
Choline salicylate should not be used by people allergic to aspirin.

Lots of good advice above, saltwater seems to help me, and zinc seemed worth a try at the time.
In the meanwhile, lots of cranberry juice combats acid, so if you like the taste, give it a try, and don't forget that a straw can be very useful at getting fluids past the painful bits!
Sorry to be late on this, but better late than never.
As Foxy said b4, try Frador.
It's a red liquid in a small round bottle.
Make sure your ulcer is dry b4 you apply it.
It stings slightly but is well worth the effort and it is much better than Bonjella.
Cures the ulcers in no time, also numbs the pain for a time then apply more.
Got to say salt water, probably one of the best and least harmfull.
Mouth ulcers can be caused by anything, from abrasions to being run down.
The last time I suffered a major attack of ulcers it was caused by having my wisdom teeth pulled in the hospital... strange things was the ulcers, after having to re-visit the hospital, were all along the lines of where the tools had been "rested" and no where near the holes of the extraction.
The only thing the hospital could think of was that I was alergic to either the metal of the tools or the additive they used in the conclaives.
Its worth seeing your dentist and doctor as it may be a secondary infection to say a filling that has become infected which would normally result in an abcess but is showing symptoms this way.
Its also worth thinking about if you have made any large dietry change reciently if this is not a long term thing... or seems to happen at certian times of the year because things like strawberrys are seasonal (ish)
