Going back to my halycon days of going to raves in the early nineties I wonder if there was anyone that still goes? Or had some good memories? smile
We had many a g8 time especially when the outdoor raves were in their height before the clamp down by the goverment.
Some of the big uns I went to were:
World Party
The Cross
Bagleys-Kings x
The Rocket Club-Holloway Road
Cambrige Corn Exchange
Miinstry Of Sound
The Park-Kensington
Classic rave chat was:
Whats your name?
Where you from?
What you on?
How many have you done?
Good ole days!!!!
i bloody hate rave music mad
if they made me PM i'd ban the shite :lol2:
*edited*
edited to add - however, I do remember Vibealite redface surprisedops: , Tribal Gathering, Creamfields, Ministry of Sound.........and Stanton Moor

I dont think anyone is gonna give an answer to this one hun - particularly as your reference to white doves contravenes the AUP! rolleyes

white doves?
sorry to be thick as i said hate rave :lol2:
Only got bad memories of raves.
A group of 'business colleagues'and myself organised al rave in a field and made a small fortune profit, only to have one of the promoters associates point a gun at us and do a runner with all the loot.
Definitely some VERY dodgy characters around that scene
I have some great memories, i had the pleasure of visiting all the best club/warehouses in the UK.
My memories of these fun times are slighty hazey  but for many years (too many) i was very wild and loved every minute i partied :taz:
The club i used most was called "bowlers" in Manchester.
I also liked a club called "Kenetic" in Stoke, Misters smiths(all nighter  ) and the "Orbit".
I have fond memories of "Ministry of sound".
I really disliked "Cream" in Liverpool.
H, red x

My best experience in clubbing were the illegal warehouse raves :eeek:
Fun times :silly:
Best club ever was the Hasienda in manchester and placemate 7 but that wasnt rave .
ohhhhhh what memorys happy mondays. joy division ect ect .
Still love the music now new order inspiral carpets to many to mention .
lol
Horny Red
Thanx god theres someone who remembers and had good memories of raves, is this post similar to saying: "I used to be an alcholic" did u? It feels like it a bit by the replies lol.
I did go to cream a few times it was good and like you said v hazy. rolleyes
The warehouse and outdoor events were excellent and the buzz of a finding an illegal rave through the grapevine on a saturday nite seemed to make it even more exciting.
Darkfire:
Have I offended anyone whats the AUP stand for? Sorry if not the right sort of post. redface
Markz:
I wasnt involved with any of the exodus meets, I wouldnt class them as ravers as they had a little bit of politics with there nites and sort of had the travelling community at there wrong with that just a different set of people.
Naughty:
Your not being naive as you arent into raves.I best not say to much as I may get myself in only just joined so dont want to rock the boat as darkfire said about the rules. surprisedops:

Get boloxed, go into a field in 90 degree heat then go into a huge feckin tent (and i mean twice the size of a football stadium huge) with phat poundin bass, jump round like a e-jit till you got cramp in your legs and wait for it to rain inside the tent (weird)
wish i could still be arsed more often cos ebaneezer was rather good
should be working most of the big events next year with a bit of luck :bounce:

RAVE ON
Never went to a rave, not my scene, but in the early ninrties i worked nights in a petrol station near to Club Kinetic in Longton, Stoke on Trent. At 3am on saturday, the club would close, and hundreds of the ravers would come down to stock up on water, cigs, chocolate etc. Always had a laugh, they were the most fantastic group of people - and i made a fortune cuz so many would hand over a £20 note for a few quids worth of things and just walk off!
And now, lots of s.h. forumers will be asking me for their change - with 15 years of interest on top...... smile :) cool
Before you do, see thread on tipping lol
I used to go to wigan pier on a friday, and maximes on a saturday, top nite's even tho i just about remember them.
Also used to go bowlers i loved that place, wish it was still going?
I think my love affair with raving ended about the time cream started getting big, i agree with Horny Red never liked that place. Even tho i met king dogger there stan collymore, it never had the same atmosphere as 'the pier'
It's been bugging me, but what was the name of the service's on the way to liverpool where everyone used to go?
i'm far too old to be shaking my booty these days, but can vaguely remember some storming nights at the Gallery and Warehouse in Leeds back in 1990-91. the ole memory blurs a tad bearing in mind i was out 3 times a week! ;)
the after club blues parties at Sonny's in Chapeltown were awesome, so long as you avoided the ghetto crowd preying on youngsters ripped to the tits on drink and artificial dance aids. ;)
oh for the good old days and being loved up among 2000 like-minded, half-naked, extremely sweaty souls! biggrin it all went seriously downhill after 1992. sad
neil x x x ;)
Sinner
How do you do that, pretty clever stuff?
Is it like one of those trick e/mails you get sent where if you stare at it for more than 5 mins you will see a person or a sign??????? lol
Scary stuff:
RAVE ON BABE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Didn't too many outside venue's but hammered the Hacienda week after week after week..and loved every minute of it. Also attended Bowlers (not keen though), Cream, Gatecrasher, Miss Money Penny's, Wobble etc. etc. etc.
Bumble Bees .... :bounce: ........Oliver Reed..... ....Dennis Law....
The Good Old Days.........although, still have the occasional blow out...
CheekyChimp..... cool
edit.....lets not forget....IBIZA..... :P
Cheeky
I think Ibiza was good in the early days but it got very plastic once the rave seen took off.
All the beer monsters came into it and took the vibe away.
