Some of you who've "contributed" (if that's the right word for it) to this thread should be ashamed of yourselves for the way you've tried to be "clever" at the expense of a new member.
It's a complete cop out to suggest that some of the snide remarks that have been made are just the result of good old British humour and some kind of related misunderstanding of syntax.
That is NOT my idea of British humouir. It's a few pathetic individuals feeding their egos at the expense of someone who's new to this site. I'm not going to mention the names of those I'm talking about, but I would hope that I'm not the only one here who is prepared to be seen to stand up and make the point.
I hope Mizz Amerika will continue to post and join in the forum, kick some of the stuffiness out of some of you and raise a bit more dust. It's energetic, lively, entertaining and a breath of fresh air. If you don't like her style it's not compulsory reading ok?

I've read the whole thread twice now guys. Surely the whole point is that, whichever way you look at it, it was lively and entertaining (except I guess to anyone suffering from anal retentiveness).
Does it really matter if it was a wind up or a genuine post? The Mods can tell from the IP if it's an existing member taking the proverbial, so if she's been banned as Neil says, then either there's an existing member who's now banned, or a genuine newbie who's had the plug pulled on them.
I don't know what her offensive remark was that presumambly led to the ban, but I think it's a shame as I happen to have given her the benefit of the doubt and rightly or wrongly I do feel she was goaded and I also felt that some of the remarks addressed to her were offensive.
I still stand by my comment that some people on here feed their own egos at the expense of others.
There is nothing wrong with taking the piss as long as it is not personal and you are prepared for the piss to be taken out of you.
Seen many piss takers over the years that are great until you go back at them and then they get all aggressive, personal and upset.
This type also have strong views that if disagreed with also get all aggressive etc
I agree there are some here looking to feed their egos at the expense of others. First to take the piss, first to be outraged
I'm left with a couple of thoughts after all this:
As she said that she has been in Britain for four years, I find it hard to believe that she has not encountered British piss-taking humour before, especially her being American, which would (rightly or wrongly) have made her an irresistible target for many.
Also, I have been in any number of internet chat rooms where there were a majority of Americans, and they are quite capable of taking the piss far more than anything seen in this forum.
So I'm firmly convinced that her outrage was fake. However, it's a mark of this forum how concerned members are that they were being fair to her - as polo said (I think), it's quite heart-warming.
