Hello people, this might just upset the apple cart a little, but political correctness has never been one of my strong points!!! :P
Has anyone noticed how many ad's for TV's and CD's appear in the wrong section? Virtually every other ad in the men seeking men section is for some kind of 'dresser'. Whats more infuriating is that when you open the ad, they have been very careful not to mention their preferences in the lineage of their ad and when you open it up, you're looking at something you're not looking for.
The last time i looked on the homepage, there's a section for TV/CD enthusiasts so why don't the moderators shunt these ads to the correct section? mad
When you post an ad on SH, the first thing you see is a note to say that you should make sure your ad goes into the correct section, else it'll be removed and your account could be suspended. With this in mind, why are there so many ad's for TV's and CD's in the Men Seeking Men section which shouldn't be there.
Might upset the apple cart???
Typical 1st poster i say... rolleyes
Just because an ad has been posted in the wrong section... I think it's out of order to call anybody "Dyslectic" !!! Especially when you cannot spell it yourself
There are alot of people with this through no fault of there own

If you look, there's a little link that says 'report this ad' on ads. There's a button called 'report this profile' on profiles. Did you not think to do that? A lot of people who use the ads. don't use the forum. Like you? Since December 2005, you obviously haven't used the forum very much even as a lurker, or you would have seen the kind of post you've just written, many times.

It's 'dyslexic'.
Thanks for your insight Frecklebird, and yes - i've tried reporting this on many occasions. Frankly it's a total waste of time!!

The mods move/delete them when they are reported, when they can - they aren't here 24/7 though.
Shouldn't the ads for TV's & CD's appear in the "Items for sale" section confused:

I have noticed a few posts of late where they have been "members since" 05...06 etc yet have a very low post count...........
Very sorry Frecklebird, but i wasn't aware that using the Forum was obligatory!! The reason i don't use it very often is because the topic of of the thread gets changed as more replies are posted...... and right now, it looks as though the topic of this thread is now how the word Dyslexic is spelled. I did not post this to discuss people's spelling merits - or the lack of..... i posted this topic to highlight the fact that nearly all the ad's for TV/CD's are in the wrong section and that something should be done about it. mad

I didn't say that it was obligatory to use the thread's been hijacked because the topic has been done so many times before. If you actually read it, you'll see that I wasn't commenting on your spelling, actually, but on that of someone who thought you'd misspelled a word.
The 'something that should be done about ads in the wrong section' IS to report it via the correct channels, NOT by coming into the forum and moaning about it. It's rare that the perpetrators come into the forum anyway, so even they won't see from your post that they are doing anything wrong.
Crikey mate, no need to take offence.
She wasn't saying anything about use of the forums being obligatory, she was just saying that if you had used them more, you would have seen previous the threads - as in, you are not the only one to have thought the same thing.
And the fact that the thread may have gone off on a tangent in some parts is just a fact of forum life - it happens regularly.
You just have to accept it and bring it back on track yourself if you want, no need to get worked up about it.

Thank you, that's exactly what I meant.
I love it when threads go off topic lol  . Do it all the time when talking in real life

I have been Dyslexic since the day I was born and shall be till the day I die ....... shall I ever more rest in peace innocent
I so wish spell check understood me! redface
Sometime people just want to put their adverts in every possible place so they can have more replies or so they think confused the more likely case is that people see the same advert in different sections and therefor cross them off their list of possible!
I only ever placed one advert in November 2005 and it was only in one week due to the silly replies and the amount far more than one woman can handle, so I do not understand why you bother with them, although I do wish you the best of luck in your long search through them!
I found that going to munches was far more fun and a rewarding way to meet fun loving people drinkies :whistling:
Perhaps you whould have joined in the forum a little more over the years and not be in need of reading glasses for all your perving of adverts wink
OK - let's put this to bed once and for all.... First off, no one is getting 'worked up' about anything... i was merely responding to a comment that i have not posted here before, and the impression i got from that remark was that i was some kind of outcast for not doing so earlier.
Secondly, i did check quite a few previous pages of threads to make sure i was not replicating something that had already been posted or discussed before i shoved my few bob's worth in.
And thirdly, i did not 'make a big thing' about Dyslexia - it was purely the title for my thread given that the vast majority of ad's for TV's and CD's appear in the wrong section. It merely occured to me that as they ALL appear in the wrong section, Dyslexia might be the problem.

Hello endeegee wave and welcome to the forum, hope you drop by again xx

Disclaimer, I'm knackered.......but......
Aren't TV'S & CD's men then? Just one variation on the theme?
Surely if they're looking for men, then they're in the right section. Gay/Bi CD/TV's are a sub-section of that section.
If a fem wanted to play with a straight CD/TV, she would go to the CD/TV section. Wouldn't she have equal cause to grumble at having to wade through all the gay guys?
It makes sense in my head. confused

lol
but TV are men so are they actually doing anything wrong by putting their adds in the men seeking men section? dunno

Oh but you did make a BIG thing about dyslexia or you wouldn't of titled your post how you did.
It's OK folks, he's absolutely right. We're hijacking and spoiling a quality thread. Obviously the way to do things is to discuss it on forum, where the people concerned can't see it.
Ooops I forgot - welcome to the forum endeegee, kick off your shoes, grab a drink, pull up a chair and happy posting biggrin

oooooh..... where do i start....
Okay....
1) The mods can only do something about it if YOU do something about it.....and since you apparently missed the advice for the great spelling debate.. rather than the 1st post "whinge" which is a great way to make a first impression by the way.......report the ad via the "report the ad" link....then the mods can do something about it if they agree
2) if there happens to be a TV/CD who happens to be a man..... wants to meet a man..... I can't see why putting it is men seeking men is a problem..... they may not cross dress all the time for example.....and if an add doesn't appeal to you... move on to the next one..
3) you are right.... you are not obligated to use the forums, however please remember that not everyone in the forums uses the ads or the chatroom.......so by using the forums to complain about the ads it a bit like going into Tesco's and complainging about the prices in Sainsbury's
4) your title is very misleading.. so i am not surprised your thread got hijacked.. and people got mildly offended......
