As a non smoker ( no judgment of smokers is made - live and let live)it appears to me from use of the site that their is a higher percentage of smokers here than I meet in any other social or work setting . Does this mean that Smokers are more likely to be swingers than non Smokers? or is it just the mix of people I happen to know here and in other walks of life . If it is the mix of people I know and other people havent had the same experience then the use by me of such a small sample is a complete misuse of statistics !!!

I hadn't given this much thought until a conversation with someone recently where it was mentioned
I think that most of the people I socialise with on SH are smokers but I'm a non smoker :?
Not that it really matters but I wonder if smoking makes people more social or something :?

I am a smoker, but I don't smoke on a meet unless the person is fine with smoking, but I don't drink.
I could be wrong but I believe there are more drinkers than smokers here.
I don't have a problem with drinkers, but I wouldn't like to meet someone that had to have a drink on a meet.
I can feel a poll coming on!

i am so dylexic at the mo. i read that as welcome to the forum anus!!!!
:D :D We both smoke and when we " entertain " at our house,we will smoke.
We always ask people if they do smoke and that if they don't, we are open and tell them we smoke and will smoke in our home but....if we was to meet someone else at their house and they did not smoke, we would of course refrain from doing so, and we have.
A lot of the people we have met actually do not smoke, and the only ones who do not drink are the ones that drive to get here.
We have found people are more inclined to drink, than to smoke.
The smoking issue now seems to raise many questions. That is one reason why we do not go to pubs much now or to clubs. It will be fine to go out side in the summer months, but not when it is freezing cold.
We both smoke, we both enjoy it, and yes in many circumstances are almost made to feel like lepers. But in our house we do as we please.

As you say, no offence meant, but if there`s one single activity that would stop me from meeting somebody, it`s smoking on cam. Don`t think it would worry Mrs f either way.

I would love to give up smoking, but I have very little willpower, and I do smoke on cam, after all I am in my own home, and that gives me the right to do as I feel fit. I am often asked why I smoke on cam, and my reply is simple, it's because i choose to. I am also often told I look sexy on cam smoking, which i do admit i find baffling lol.
If people dont like meeting smokers, then of course that's their choice. We wouldn't smoke at a home of someone who doesn't smoke - but we do at our own home, as that's our own territory. It's all a matter of respect and common sense.
I personally have a major aversion to people being so drunk they can hardly string two words together, either in the chatroom or in person.

I'd just like to add that I being a non smoker think that pubs are worse places, OK the airs cleaner, for people not being able to smoke.
The last bristol social we were at there was a mostly empty pub as all were outside having a fag or those who were non smokers out there chatting with those who were, Inside was that empty at times it echoed.

Thing is, I now think I'm one of those "ex-smokers are the worst" type people you hear about. My sense of smell has become incredibly sensitive to smokers. If Mrs C or one of the kids has been near a smoker I can tell. If someone walks past me in the street I know if they smoke.
Any other ex-smokers get this or is it just me? ;-)
Would it stop us from arranging a meet with a smoker? Probably not, but it would take the edge off a bit.

My other half is the same - he's never smoked but knows if there's smoke/a smoker within 50 feet. The reason he wouldn't attend a lot of the early munches and socials with me was that he finds smoke-filled rooms a nightmare and in prviate functions it's difficult to get away to a different area.
Personally, I do think there is a correllation between the swinging lifestyle and smokers.. based on my experience anyway. There also seems to be a correlation between some swingers and bad wallpaper and duvet covers (in profile pics and on cam) but that's another thread for another day
If I know, then I WON'T meet people who smoke for sex as I like to kiss... a lot!
