I am NOT happy... I have just been scouring the shelves in the old 'supermarket', and seen THICK IRISH SAUSAGES...blatently on sale. Now I feel it is something we have to stamp out HERE AND NOW. I am calling for a protest march to London, to undo the harm and stigmata this will bring to chipolata sausages yet to reach maturity. You can buy Pork and Beef, Pork, Beef, Lincolnshire, many types of flavoured sausage, but NOT ONE is labelled THICK. Just who is responcible for testing the IQ of these sausages? Have we a league table, and has it been checked recently? I am genuinely concered because for years I have seen 'thick' irish sausages about. It seems they have little educational resourses and MUST qualify for special needs funding? I have also seen a vast increase of the German 'BROCKWORST', which cannot be all it seems. I do notice not many buy the American 'WEENERS', which are small, insignificant and down right tiny. I think we should all pop down and get a hold of a sausage NOW. Hold them in your hands, and tell them they are loved and let them feel loved. Let us not segregate the skinned from the skinless, the weener from the jumbo. Hold them with pride, with love, and be they fresh or stiff (aka frozen), let them feel needed.
Stand up now and feel the love....Sausage lovers of the world unite.....
dunno
I can bring my very own Lincolnshire Sausage, if that's allowed? wink
Big Bob
Nothing wrong with thick irish sausages, I've had a few in my time!!
*makes a placard saying "up the sausage"*
lol
As a veggie, I am totally opposed to sausages and all other meat products.
Down with sausages (even Linda McCartney ones) mad
Quite right. All sausages have something valuable to contribute to the world. And isn't the journey the important part, not the destination? If these so-called "thick" sausages take a little longer to eat (it's a myth - completely untrue from what I've heard), that doesn't detract from the end result. It only adds to the enjoyment of the process.
All sausages are created equal. They are endowed by their makers with certain tasty flavours.
Often wondered - Is it ok for a vegetarian to swallow come?
If Linda Mc Cartney was a veggie perhaps pauls excuse for always looking a bit sad was she did NOT like meat in her....? confused
A deeper argument to being a veggie is that even plants have a life. They have all the things an animal has except the big doleful eyes whick we contemplate at death. On a different level a plant has blood, veins, a life, a death and a reproduction cycle, it is just that we do not see it at such microscopic levels... :?:
Anyhow I digress....
My sausage has been well handled and is always treated with respect, dignity and upholds itself with pride! Lincolnshire sausage is cool, but not full of 100% MEAT...which we all love ( biggrin )...?
I like the plackard idea, and may well put it to good use. We need a slogan or the likes. Maybe the plea will come best from the fellas, but the lasses can give us a hand????
