What I don't get is why England insisted on pumping in those long high balls to the strikers... Vassell & Owen are like 5'4 between them, they were never going to get on the end of them. Eriksson should've brought on Heskey instead of Vassell; his physical presence would surely have worried the Portugeuse defence more, and he could've linked up the play better.
Our midfield just looked so tired though, especially Gerrard and Beckham and to a lesser extent Lampard. After half-time, we didn't really get up the pitch until about forty minutes into the second half.
Still, good play England to come back from 2-1 down to force penalities, but again none of our players looked confident taking the penalities, whilst the Portugeuse looked super-cool.

IT WASN`T MY FAULT!!!!
I`m not a huge football fan, but I do like to watch England play when it`s important, yet I`ve never watched an entire game in which England have won. When we played Croatia, I missed two goals whilst walking to a friends house to watch it.
Yesterday I nipped down the shop, whilst I was there we scored. We didn`t score once whilst I watched, and as I told my friends I would make myself scarce (I think some of them were glaring at me
) , Portugal scored!

gerrard, FFS, just how many stupid bloody balls did he give away that we got punished for. he just looked either very very knackered or very very feck this i can't be arsed!!!!! thought neville did ok, vassells, well he never looked like scoring ((( spec at the penalty ))) but why did an entire team fall to pieces when an 18 year old got subbed FFS!

They fell to pieces after the Owen goal and the twat of a ref, of whom shouldnt be allowed to referee another international match( even though its between him and another one for the final) we didnt stand a chance. It was 12 v 11 on the night....and thanx blue for your cheerful support...you must be scottish..
