Imagine you're on the way to a social, you make jokes about turning up to the wrong place and finding yourself at a bible study group....
So, we arrive at the social and are given directions on how to find the function room. We wander down, find a room with "Private Function" on it and enter.
At this point I'm thinking something is wrong, there's a table full of rather young people and a older lady who greets us.
"We're here for the social"
"Oh, this is christ the kings church group"
At which point, my friend says:
"We're here for bible study"
"Oh, I don't think we're doing bible study tonight".
We exit rather rapidly and make our way down to the opposite end of the pub where the swingers social is taking place! lol
I don't think I've laughed so much in ages, what were the chances!
Maybe that lady reverend who swings, was there too? But at which venue I ask? lol....Or maybe went from one to the other, well would save on fuel. wink
i'm not sure there's anything quite as bad as walking into a social and discovering someone u work with.....what do u do, grin and bear it or shit yourself and run lol
rotflmao :rotflmao:
I do daft things too...
I went to a wedding reception at the local pub a few years back - I sat an ate the food, had a few drinks and kept looking around for a recognisable face.
In the end I asked the lady sat opposite me where the happy couple was.... turned out I was at someones birthday party - no bluddy idea who!! An the function I should be at was at the other end of the building!

sit and chat is my advice .. they are there for the same reasons you are what is to be embarassed about (apart from my spelling redface )
We went to our first social at Eurekas about a month ago, and met my sister's fiance (fortunately they split up about 6 months before and so she wasn't there). In fact I think they split up because he was going to Eurekas without her lol
