Good Morning.
Could someone in authoritaay let me know if it is acceptable to PM without invitation on the board. I understand from the chatroom that it is not and for some reason I find myself not wanting to break the rules :small-print:

Not that I'm in authority..... redface

..... but as long as the PM isn't rude or aggressive then it's fine to PM without asking on the board.....
Generally people love getting PM's.....I know I do.....and it helps to get to know people as well.....
But if I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me.....

I agree with DreamerHelen. I like them too. Especially if it's a flattering proposal. (Not that I get too many of those :shock: ) Like chatting in the cafe, as long as people aren't abusive and rude, it's just another way of conversation.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply, and for for hints and tips. I just need to tell somebody they haven't offended me but the the thread is locked and I don't want to resart the topic on here.
Moving sideways - I read an interesting thread on here recently called 'Are you your Avitar' which made me think about peoples names/nicks/handles etc.
DreamerHelen - I would hope all your dreams are sweet (and occasionally moist)
RedVelvet - Are you as smooth and soft as velvet (in the right places)

Yes, it is acceptable to PM someone as long as you are:
polite
respectful
friendly
and don't breakl anything on the AUP.
For istance - saying to someone you are approaching cold, 'fancy a fuck, I've got a 10" cock" (someone did, to me!!) will get you a furious response, at best, and at worst deactivated.
There was a response here some time ago about how to approach people on this forum a the best answer was 'think about how you would do it in a pubful of strangers'.
Go forth and send PMs - carefully!!

There is no problem with PMing anyone so long as the PM is in the correct spirit of the site. Anyone sending malicious PMs would be reported and dealt with accordingly. smackbottom

We also love getting PM'S although as yet we have had very few :cry:
But those that have sent us PM's, have helped to make us feel more part of things and we have always replied and yes, as a previous poster says,it helps to get to know people a little better

I think pms are great,a good way of getting chatting to people you might not meet in the chatroom,etc,etc.
As long as theyre not horrible theyre great.
