Hi
Could someone briefly explain how I can set up an avatar?
I'm a bit technically challenged when it comes to this sort of thing!

Hi,
Check at the bottom of your profile (Click Profile link at top of page):
Avatar control panel
Displays a small graphic image below your details in posts. Only one image can be displayed at a time, its width can be no greater than 102 pixels, the height no greater than 102 pixels, and the file size no more than 20 KB.
If you are not sure on how to resize a picture you can pick one from the gallery, there are loads.

Depends on what type of avatar you require - a cartoon or a picture.
To place an avatar on your profile select 'Profile' at the top of your SH window. You can set quite a few options, but near to the bottom you will see that you can select an avatar.
You can choose to select one of the avatars which are defaults on the site, or upload your own by navigating to a file on your PC.
You can download avatars from many sites (use your search engine to find them).
Alternatively you can use a picture on your PC (if it's not of you (tasteful one) then be careful of potential copyright or privacy issues).
Any avatars can be no more than 20kb and should be no larger than 102 x 102 pixels. You can use any photo editing software to resize a picture.
