Back handed compliments

Seems that some pay site or other is rattled... I recently had a couple of well crafted but obviously bogus 'replies' from the couples ads in the form of a long moan about how ineffective a free site is and how sheer honey and nectar exists if only I'd subscribe to a pay site.
The trade mark of these type of replies is that they come from a mail account specifically set up for the purpose and then locked down with an 'auto reply' once the spam has been dispatched.
I dare say others have had similar?

I have had never had such through this site, although I have through another â€“ I donâ€™t think it is so much â€˜rattledâ€™ as much as you might as well give anything a try!

To be quite honest this is the biggest totally free site in the uk. Nobody on this site wants your money or your credit card details (to make sure you're genuine or any other made up reason).
All the site owner asks is that you're not abusive to any of the other members and that you respect the site Acceptable Use policy. Do that and you're in the community with the rest of us.
Why do we get so many spammers annoying the shit out of us? Because we're successful. Reporting these ads to the mods really does help us keep the site the way it is and were grateful for it. Give us as many specifics as you can please. mad

I have had this happen to me too. I initilally replied in all sincerity and receiving the reply saying this:

Hello,
We got your email but we are not replying to you personally because
we have received 100's of message in response to our advert.
After reading about 50 of them, it soon became clear that the
majority did not read our requirements and most likely, these were
just "copy and paste" messages with little or no thought going
into the content. The impression we got was that we were probably
just one in hundreds receiving the same message,
We are simply not interested in that, we need a 1-2-1 before we would
even make contact.
Some of the messages were downright insulting as they assumed my
wife was a tramp !!!
Other couples we have spoken with say the same and we all agree that
that this is the product of free sites. We have now taken their lead
and gone to other sites, sure we had to become members but the
quality of replies from other members far outways the emails we
had been receiving. We have actually met up with some really nice
guys who had prior fallen into the same trap. They are happy and
we are happy. That's what it's all about.
Just so you know, we did find a site that displays all the best
online UK contact sites. As we have already found out, they are all
real people ... no timewasters. Anyone who takes the time and
trouble to be a member must have something going for them.
It's up to you of course, we suspect most other couples feel
the same way as we do. This is the site where we made our
connections, so maybe we will get the chance to meet you
on the other side.

I (being genuine) then spent 10 minutes writing an Email expressing my disgust at the way his wife must have felt and went into "spiel" about John Stewart Mill and the merits of "Freedom". I feel a total tool now though because i got exactly the same reply (see quote above). As if being a single male and being invited to join someone isn't hard enough, now this sort of thing is happening.
I accept that it is probably now that a high %'age of posts are gonna be "fake" but hopefully in future at least i can avoid writing Email replies that took a lot of thought and time to compile. It hasn't put me off replying to posts but i have now had a few of these and all replies i receive say the same sort of thing.
Here is another:

Hi,
You mailed us from the site. We were amazed with the sheer number
of emails to our advert. Thanks for showing all that interest in my wife,
she is fantastic but there is a problem.
We had ---- 800 messages and to be frank, that's far too much for one couple. It was quite exciting until we started to read the messages !!!
We reckon that most were fakes because nobody in their right mind
says things like "I WANNA FUCK YOUR WIFE SILLY"
For my wife, this was now in a NO GO AREA.
We have deleted our advert, no way will we get involved with this rubbish
Just for your interest, we worked it out, 800 messages for one couple
and they would still have kept on coming if we did not delete our advert.
This means that at least, one male has a 1 in 800 chances of success.
Multiply that by the number of adverts and we guess that your chances
of meeting a couple or single carry the same odds as you winning the lottery. It must be no different to finding that needle in a haystack !!
We guess that most will waste their time completely replying to adverts
So you know, we have joined another site, it cost a bit to join, did not
break the bank though and we have reduced those odds right down.
We have had 20 messages and apart from one, and there is always one,
we will meet up during the next couple of weeks.
The quality of replies is very different and with all due respect, you really
should take note of this because in real terms, it dramatically reduces your
own odds to 1 in 20 and how you fair in this is up to you and your reply.
My wife has just mentioned that this might well go over the heads of many
as the site has this FREE indication about it. We first thought that but we were wrong.
Hope you don't mind a bit of advice, the chances are you are really
wasting your time, real couples and no doubt singles will go to a site
that gets results, there are many of them.
Anyway, thanks for your reply but that is the end, remember, we have
something you want and that's my wife who is the most incredible sexy
person I have known. She is available for real people only.
The replies fluffed it, not for us, hope you understand !

I'm gonna keep an eye on the actual ads i reply to now and report any that are as mentioned above.

Yeah, those are two I received.
Taking up the suggestion to report as much as possible, I do... but this particular one is hard to nail because you get the 'reply' quite a while after you've seen the ad, and probably the original email address was hidden.
'successful site attracts the spammers'.... agreed, that was the point of my title to this thread.
Mainly posted it as a warning to others not to take these stupid spams seriously, as I too once wasted brainpower on composing a reply!

Dunk here ... have read this string and others from time to time. I have never received any such messages and I have replied to probably hundreds of adverts from photo ads.
Infact, it would be nice to get replies. Can anyone tell me why some get these replies and I don't. I have had conversations with other men on the site and they don't get them either. WHAT MAGIC DO YOU GUYS HAVE THAT WE DON'T

I got an e-mail from some woman who seemed genuine, photo etc, not a standard spam e-mail, the whole works. She wouldn't reply to me unless I joined the site she was with, which I did after much reluctance and worrying about parting with Â£23 of beer money. Anyway, never hear from her again and a few days later get an identical e-mail from another woman for the same site.
Tool comes nowhere near how I felt. Last time I think with my other brain. mad
