Was arranging a meet with a couple and have just discovered that they have been banned. How long do these bans last and is this something to worry about ( an indication of the other couple). What types of things do you get banned for.?
I was trying to find a link to the info but couldn't, so would appreciate your help. Thanks.
You get banned for anything that contravenes this:
http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/main/aup.html
Hope that helps :P
people get banned for different reasons. if you have there email address then send them a email and ask. and then you can judge for yourself.
and make sure you meet them in public and then you can see what there like.
hope you have fun and enjoy yourself.

P.S not very good at putting my thoughts into word lol
Thanks bloke2005, Ive had a look but am still unsure about what to do about the couple in question. We were going to meet at a social and as i cannot see what they have actually done, i dont really know if it was a major thing that they did, or just maybe a minor indiscretion. It was to be our first social and this has sort of put a dampner on it.

Thanks. I think i will e-mail them and ask. Do you not think they might see me as too nosy?
errr l and j if you had a meet arranged then what is wrong with you contacting them by any means you can (phone/email?) to find out what has happened and is your meet still happening...... this would seem to be a perfectly reasonable action.
as bloke has pointed out with his link, people can be banned for many reasons.

so go and enjoy yourselfs, if they arnt what you want in the end then theres plenty more people there for you to meet and get to know.

MandH, as i said above i will e-mail them to find out but have never come across a benned member before and just wanted some general advice about the subject before i made contact with them. I think that this was a perfectly reasonable way to do it. I dont like to dive into something i am not sure about. Hence the reason why i posted this thread.
we have had this happen to us, we had already exchanged details with the couple and they seemed ok, however it always sticks in the back of your mind , wondering why they have been banned, what if it was for violence to another member? or something just as bad, its a minefield, im not sure but think the site dont have to tell you why or what happened.

People get banned for plenty of reasons and to be honest I can apriciate why we aren't told what they are banned for however ........ in the profile text that says "this member is currently banned from this site" could we not add the line "untill 20/12/2006" for example.
If we had made contact and aranged a meet with someone and then found them banned the length of the ban could give some indication as to what they had done wrong. We would happily meet someone who had tried to hide their e mail addy in a post or soemthing on those levels..........but as WRATS said if they had been banned for violence or things of the same serious level, we would be certain not to have anything to do with them.
I'm aware you could ask the member why they were banned but they may not always be honest.
<<<<<ducks for cover as sheddy idea's tend to generate flack lol
We were banned for two weeks a couple of months ago .
The reason given was we were posting pictures which contained other people along with us, the sites policy states pics cannot contain a third party.
We accepted the ban so now are pics are just of the 2 of us , strange because on ANY day you go into the gallery you will find pics which obviously shouldnt be there , but for some reason some people can get away with it while others are banned.
Our point is are we the sort of people you wouldnt wish to meet because a shite rule which is obviously very flexable ?
Sorry that was a typing error which should have said site rule .
Honest.

Thats a good idea so no flack from me unless you want it
The vast majority of bans are placed for breaking the site AUP and then normally after at least one warning and in most instances, several warnings, so I wouldn't advocate not meeting someone on the grounds that they have been banned, because the liklyhood is that the ban is for ignoring previous warnings to desist from breaking rules and not for some henious crime against mankind.
The earlier answer about asking these folk outright why they've been banned seems a reasonable one to me.

Go use the 'report this picture' button - that's what others do!

"so I wouldn't advocate not meeting someone...." the bold items are the double negatives
So, therefore... you would advocate meeting someone

I wouldn't advocate not doing it at least once before you die.
or
I would advocate trying it at least once before you die.
