Ok. This is a good topic in my opinion in that it highlights the way in which people now thinkabout the way in which we........... well 'think'.
I was brought up in a household where my parents who said they held no racist opinions. Spouted out some of the most, what would be considered highly racist and provocative language. Of course decorum would prevent them ever saying so in the company of peoples who (not aimed specifically, i would say) this would be about.
This obviously left its mark on myself. Hopefully in a positive way. I can still see in myself the points at which my parents would resort to these sentiments. These points stick in me like pins and i hate them. Why ? Because i wish with all my being that i could walk through life not noticing any 'differences' cultural, ethnic, religeous, colour or ability.
This is not going to happen in my lifetime i know. but i embrace the fact that i can recognise the wrong in these points at which i notice dfferences, and through me knowing that. My children are far more acccepting of the differences in people without realising the differences in the first place.
Though some may think that it is a silly thing all this big brother stuff, and in some ways i see that. Reffering to the media hype ratimgs etc which is all corporate based i guess, The upshot is the amount of horror and indignation shown by everyone regardless of who or where. Think how this would of been 30 - 20 - 10 years ago even , prob wouldnt of made national news.
So, maybe some good can be derived from this sorry pathetic little programme (sorry totally personal opinion there if you enjoy then good for you) So long as awareness is raised and no further harm is done then cool . My sympathies go to the people who have had to endure these bully amd racist or whatever ist attacks. But, with Martyrdom (however unasked for) comes progression in civilisation and to those who have suffered i honour and respect. Some day we wont need martyrs due to them . Thank god!
Look ive gone on again jeez i get involved with this stuff. People of the forum i love it I LOVE IT
I was wondering how long it would be before this topic was posted... it's a very controversial one at that. I for one think Shilpa was bullied.. very much so. As for Jade, I don't, in my opinion think her initial intent was to be racist towards Shilpa, otherwise she would have turned on Jermaine also. I think Jade's problem and she admitted this last night was she simply did not like the girl... whether there was a slight jealousy towards Shilpa's beauty, her manners which were impeccable, her pure stance which was totally dignified at all times could have ruffled Jade's feathers. Jade in her own words admitted she herself was common, Jade in her own words admitted she didn't like the fact Shilpa had had servants.
I think the main character guilty for possible racist bullying was Danielle, but again that's just my opinion, she from the start has been the nastiest by far and Jade has used her fame as power.
Jade should have known better, she was ambassador for an anti-bullying campaign (which I believe she has been dropped from). At the end of the day, she should not have made derogatory comments about poppadoms etc., but with that I think she was trying to get a laugh out of the others.
I really feel for Shilpa, she is a beautiful woman and whatever her colour has been bullied for which she didn't deserve. People may presume it was racially aggravated because of her culture but at the end of the day she has been bullied, end of.
Either way, racism and bullying should have zero tolerance.
Lets just hope thats the end of this terrible programme for good!
I used to watch it in early days when it first arrived but by the 3rd series it was old boring and I guessed they would have to start putting in people they KNEW would give what they ( media bosses) good entertainment i.e like John McCrirrick in last years show.
Now what is it that Forrest says..............................
"Thats all I've got to say about that"
The publicity generated probably means that so-called reality TV won't disappear from our screens.
It is a sad comment on our society that somebody with no discernible talent can become a millionaire just by being an ignorant slob. It's good that some shops have withdrawn her perfume but who gave her that deal in the first place? Surely a large part of celebrity endorsement is the idea that by buying a product, you become in some small way something like the celebrity in question. Who but the thickest chav could ever want to resemble Jade, either in appearance or attitude.
i do like jade, but BB made her now they have broken her, i dont think she was racist but spoke her mind and all so set up by BB,
jade enjoy your money and have a good life
jade is on my list ,,i shouldnt ,,, but i would
Jade Goodey can protest as much as she damn well likes, we are not stupid, what she diplayed in that house, was rude, arrogant, aggressive, and totally irresponsible behaviour for not only an adult but a mother. This I believe is a personal characteristic of Ms Goodey, and even if the Indian Lady was not in the house, I firmly believe that she would have targeted someone to receive the abuse that she dished out.
