When does a woman become a BBW?
Is it on clothing size?
Is it weight?
Is it attitude?
Any thoughts?
I would suggest it is an attitude of mind. It is an irrelevant label, unless its some thing one wishes to be labeled with.
BBW was a term coined in the good ole USA to try and give a positive spin on being a fat bird it is widely considered to be a woman of a size 18 to 28 over a 28 is considered an SSBBW (Super Size BBW) although that one never really took off over here as much as BBW did thankfully
lots of big girls don't like the term BBW as they feel it would look concieted to call themselves beautifull but it was never meant in that way it was purely meant that others can actually find big to be beautifull
i do use the term myself but its quite simply so no one feels they could be mislead and know what to expect upfront that simple

Everyone else's label is relevant. If you just have your own opinion it's relevant to nothing. Your own opinion only become relevant against someone else's.
Personally I think BBW is down to the looker rather than the person. I may view my wife as average, which to me is not BBW. But someone else may be used to hanging out (dating) with size 6 - 8 people therefore, for them anything over a size 12 would be BBW.
I have seen a few ads where people have said no people over size 12 need apply.
I have no problem with people setting their own preferances as we are all on here to pick and chose. My problem is using dress sizes. They are a totally inaccurate tool for the job.
Size 12 represents nothing, I could go into several shops and pick up size 12 dresses for 3 or 4 maybe even 5 or 6 different sized women.
At least with guys you know what your going to get, size 32 means 32 inches and is the same everywhere.
As for talking about american sizes that just adds extra confusion. I think they are 4 down on us. So the SSBBW of 18-24 is UK size 22-28 or maybe 30.
I used to think this was annoying and would suggest women demand uniform sizes. However this would shatter the illusion of being able to find that dress 2 sizes smaller than usual. It's not actually a smaller dress, it's just the same size dress as the other shops but this one has been generous with the labelling.
Ok didn't mean to rant but rant over now.
