I think what they do, is a friend can request you to join, it isnt until you have clicked on the link and filled in your information that you then would be a memeber. I know this is how it works on other sites am unsure about this particular one though.

Be careful of Bebo there are users on that site that are able to hack into your computer, went on a child protection course recently and this site was mentioned by name as one not to let your children use as often used by pedos, hence my daughter is kept well away from it...
we were shown newspaper articles and video of people having their keyboards being over ridden and typing by itsself, very disturbing!!
