Mrs B, sorry for not getting back to you sooner on this but I think these two have full covered your questions, along with Mallock (but I forgot to quote him) 
Seriously, it's just like an evening wedding party, all you have to do is turn up, collect your name badge from the desk as you walk in, get yourself a drink, find a seat with some friendly folk (which is everybody) or walk about and mingle, say hi to all and sundry, join in or laugh at the dancing, and that's about it.
There's no playing, you might see a lot of affectionate hugging or kissing, but that's what friends do when they meet at weddings! :lol:

One thing I would like to stress is that cameras really should not be brought to a munch (and if your phone is a camera one, please dont use it to take pics of people, or even pics of yourself if there is anyone in the background). You will get a full invite which (hopefully) will answer a lot of questions and if it doesnt then you can always give me a shout.

Not going to name names but a recent social had a guy walking round taking pictures.. We objected and was told 'No one else has minded' It was a bit awkward to say the least..
Were no prudes nor shy lol.. but think Munches and socials should not need pictures taken for any reason.. fair enough if its between friends etc fine..

One more thing - co-ordinate your eating times.
Might seem like a daft thing to say, but for my very first munch, me and my mate had a tiny late lunch, (tiny because I was so nervous and couldn't eat) and then went and got ready.
As soon as we got into the swing of things at the party, I was suddenly starving- the bar didn't have any nibbles, and I was drinking on a near empty stomach.
When we got back to the hotel, their chef had gone home, and there was STILL nothing to eat :giggle:
So - if you think you are going to be nervous, pack some snacks

good tip! Happened to me a few times...
If you go to pre drinks, try an get something to eat there as well if you can.... I always end up chatting an then rushing to get ready for the evening do and not eating!

In the nearly four-year history of SH munches, there have been three instances I can remember hearing about which could be described as sexual assaults, which were very upsetting for the victims, for other people who were there, and others who weren’t but knew the victims concerned. Some might think that three is not many, but one instance would of course be too many.
I think it needs to be made very clear that snogs, gropes etc at munches should happen with the consent of the people concerned. I cringe when I read some of the remarks in the thank you threads after munches where people refer jokily to all the gropes and snogs they got, without necessarily making it clear that these were with the consent of all. A lot of people read these threads who have never been to a munch, and it could easy for them to get the idea that there is a general green light to go round groping and snogging all at will, especially when fuelled with alcohol of course.
I’ll probably get called a wet blanket by some for this, but I think it needs to be made a bit clearer that swingers are not necessarily all “free and easy”, and that most do not welcome the attentions of the wandering hands of total strangers, be they male or female.
Don’t get me wrong, munches are great fun, and I hope the Manchester one tomorrow goes brilliantly.

I wouldn't call you a wet blanket for those comments, Mike. Just looking at some munch threads you sometimes see comments from munch virgins about how much they're looking forward to it/want snogs/are horny OR are nervous - probably because of what they've read in previous thank you threads.
