Am I alone? dunno
I post replies to threads and then forget which threads they were
Takes me ages to find them which I guess explains why I always get to bed so late, erm that's my excuse anyway! redface surprisedops:
Someone please tell me I'm not alone in this.
What's your excuse? innocent :whistling:
i always do this or i carnt remember wether i posted or not and have to go through them the only alternative is have a reminder email sent when they reply and click on the link given.
but hey ive been there too
lol
lou xx
I always make sure I get an e-mail for a reply, keep Outlook running, and check the mail, a few minutes before I shut down.
Sorry, Eagerslut, you wanted excuses didn't you....right, ooo-kay, yes erm what you do is.....nah, forget it, it's crap - sorry again ( any more apologies, and I have to start begging forgiveness redface )
I used to do the mail alerts via IM for the first few months I was on here then one night I just got bored with the bloody interruptions as they were driving me barmy, so I knocked it off!
Been confused ever since, but I prefer it this way. biggrin :D
yr defo not alone,it takes me ages to trawl through and check replies to what ive put,,,unless i posted the original thread that is
have i already replied to this once before??? :uhoh: loon bolt
yes you have bailiffs....but its a good excuse to have a browse of yr avator so keep posting love

 wink
I am soooo glad you said about forgetting. I tried using the alert thingy but got fed up with the emails. It would be nice to have a "you have contributed to this thread" indicator.
PS, if you don't see me on this thread again, you'll know why!
PS Channel 5 at the moment is showing one of thode cheesey "erotic" films

     dunno
I always forget what I reply to, I have alerts, but then I can't find them on the forum page either. Must be going either blind or senile :silly: :silly:
Strange that if I put my name into a search on here, only brings up a handful of posts confused :?
Or maybe I dream about posting replies :?: :?:
Anyone heard from bigDewi69 recently?
Place a post in every thread going, that way you don't need to remember you just know.

What you need is a good PA, to sort it all out for you.
mail you alerts, tell you what is going on, who is having a laugh and who is moaning, etc etc etc
If you're really stuck you could always use the search function and enter your own username to find posts that you made.
I have the same problem Easy,
My solution is to print out all threads I reply to, and file them in alphanumeric order, then I keep a cross reference diary using keywords, usernames and posting times. I use this to feed into a bring up file which tells me when it is time to check a thread. Once this is set up, I set an alarm for each notification in my birthday dictophone. This is quite small, and easily lost, so I have it attached to a whistling key ring.. And finally, just in case the key ring is out of range (or - indeed - I forget how to whistle) I bought a parrot and taught it to whistle really really loud. Now, the parrot will only whistle when it hears the 'you have mail' sudible warning from my computer, so I set my SH preferences to send me mail everytime a reply is posted to a thread I am watching - so, the simple sequence is:
Reply posted, mail received, computer bleeps, parrot whistles, key ring bleeps, press the button, listen to notification, access bring up file, cross reference the filed thread, find and read the relevant file, log on to sh, call up the string, reply to the thread, print off the thread, file it, update the cross reference file, update the bring up file, set a new reminder on the dictophone, then wait for the next activation. cool
The only problem is, I keep forgetting to feed the bleeding parrot. confused

Of course the other way to see all your posts is to click on your own username profile and hit the view all posts by this user. This gives you an extract of each of your posts so you can remember what they were and you have the option to go to either your post and follow it from there or look at the whole thread by either clicking on the subject line to the right of your name or Hitting the subject line at the top of your post.
Try it. You might like it.
