Some of you may know that I used to be a very keen motorcyclist - effing fanatic more like. Even spent some time (2 years) as a despatch rider in London.
Today a friend lent me his FZ750. It was the first time I'd been on a bike in 15 years :shock:
I want one so bad it hurts.
I'm not speaking to him at the moment :taz:
At least he said I can borrow it whenever I like - do you think all day, every day would be a little too much?

babe theres nothing wrong with dreaming!!! (im not saying you couldnt ever have one) we dream that one day just one day we could have a escort cosworth or a rs focus........................personally bikes scare me would never let colin have one

I know exactly how you feel! We sold up the bikes about 7 years ago and everytime I talk to someone who has a bike I just want to say 'Giz a go' but I know what the consequences will be!
Perhaps you could ask your mate about 'joint custody' and you take the weekends? lol

But ride it via Wigan!

I very nearly went and ordered a 'Blade. The only thing stopping me is the knowledge that I'm likely to wrap myself around a tree in very short order.

I hadnt been on a bike since my misspent youth twenty odd years ago......then last December a friend took me on the back of his 'blade'.......hooked again i was. Am now hopin to have my CBT1 by summertime and be on the way to getting my bike license.......wooooohoooooo

I passed my bike test when I was 17. Rode for a few yrs then kids came along so had to go back to cars sad

.
Got to the stage a few yrs back where I could get another and Ive never looked back biggrin

OK so now im only a sunny day rider but you cant beat the roar of the ducati V-Twin :twisted:

Hehe, my brother had something similar (CBR600) and wrote it off, along with his leathers! He limped away more or less undamaged though...
I'd love to have a bike, but the answer is no (usually followed by 'fucking way')

A good set of leathers works wonders for keeping your skin!
My last bike was a CBR600 got it new, August plate, in 1987! Red and silver it was - got it to match my helmet (honest).
I must admit that if I got one I would be a "fair weather biker" now. The old joints couldn't put up with the rain and the cold.

I'll tell you. It migth have been 15 years since I sold my CBR600 - the last time I was on a bike, but within 100 yards I was truely at home again.
I'm talking myself into one I can see it.

ooo memories come flooding back when i used to own bikes!!!
just wished i had kept them as they are worth a fortune to day :doh:
But will next year i hope be getting a BMW :bounce:

go on you know it makes sense,remember,a bike is the most fun you can have with your clothes on,,and although ducatis sound nice there ain't nothing,nowhere sounds nicer than a turbocharged superbike,,but then I'm biased lol

I have had bikes all my life and one or two crashes and I would never give up my bike. Cars are cool when its wet or for shopping but when you hit the roads and let it rip, you feel alive.

Pretty much sums it up for me. I started biking last year and now ride around 70 miles a day, rain or shine. Wouldn't miss it for the world. Stand on a train for an hour with a million sweaty bodies? Yum. Not. Now even after the crappiest day in the worldwide history of crappy days it still gives me a grin from ear to ear and here to there. Chasing shadows, dodging rainbows. Acceleration that makes your heart pound. And you get to wear tight leather! :twisted: For instant relief tear along the dotted line.....
What! Sorry, you were prevaricating about the bush for why??? Okay okay, I know it's still not as good as sex, but JFDI comes to mind mate...

Why the wait, check out this beautiful weather we're having! Go out an buy one!
If you're an ex dispatch rider im sure you know the importance of good protective gear, i doubt a refresher course would do you any harm either.

You only have one life... if you really want an FZ750 that much... go and get one. Kit yrself out with a decent set of leathers or armoured gear and go off into the sunset. Enjoy the feeling of speed but ride sensibly... you dont want to have the bike for 2 mins and then spend 6 months looking at it whilst yr on crutches! The Institute of Advanced Motorists do a brilliant bike course.... refresh yr skills and have a lot of fun..
