Just found this thread................. right now Becky say KOSHEEN as the best on the planet

My favs not necessarily bands but Marvin Gaye Curtess Mayfield . Got a thing for 60s soul
I haven't mentioned Serge Gainsbourg! Docteur Jekyll et Monsieur Hyde is one of my favourites of all 's a French Johnny Rotten 8)
Do you know I've long considered Radiohead as Britains best, most innovative band but I've never really been able to get into them sort to speak-God I've tried!I know what you're trying to do you minx mentioning Radiohead
By the way Spoony if you want any recommendations on any 60's Soul come and ask me-it's a pet subject of mine biggrin
Now were talking, give me some indications as to what you think registers as good 60s soul. You have to take into consideration that alot of it was cheesy and corney which gave its appeal.
Well spoony these are a few of my favourites off the top of my head
Marvin Gaye - Can I Get a Witness
Martha Reeves & the Vandellas - Heatwave
The Supremes - When the lovelight starts shining through his eyes
Ike & Tina Turner - Finger Poppin'
Etta James - Tell Mama
The Velvettes - Lonely,lonely girl am I
Edwin Starr - stop her on sight (SOS)
The Velvettes - Needle in a haystack
Now I 'm off to clean my Chelsea boots and cut some moves to these sounds lol
Like your style Marvin Gaye Troubled Man Album tracks like Mercy mercy me. The Temptations Papa was a rolling stone

i thought big country were great until i saw them live  absolute shite
prince was a weirdo but fantastic live :silly:
David Bowie is a God
Best gig is a toss up between the Who
monsters of rock Aerosmith
OHHHH YEEESSSSSSS
The Pixies (who I am going to see on June 3rd at Brixton).. biggrin
There are too many to mention,
The best live performance I've seen was by the most underated guitarist on the planet, Richard Thompson. I also think Big Country were good live. Other great bands include, Smashing Pumpkins, Beatles (of course), Wedding Present, Placebo, Caravan, Kraftwerk, Bjork, Zeppelin, Radiohead. This could go on and on another day would probably change a little.
hey moist !The Pixies were good, forgot about them! : ) Just doing to dig some of their singles out.
Oh! I should have added Killing Joke to my list. They are just about the most powerful sounding band around (in my humble....)
Kinky Lizard
I went to see The Pogues two years ago, in a large venue, and they were fantastic.
I've been to numerous gigs and I have a very wide range of tastes when it comes to music but that was one of the best! biggrin
My best gig still had to be Radiohead in South Park supported by Beck, Supergrass & Sigur Ros.....When Thom & Co came on stage I just lost it & at the end when he sung Creep as a surprise I cried along with a few thousand others...it was chucking it down with rain & I was the wettest happiest girl in the world.. biggrin
Mantovanni "ROCKS"
Was that you I saw in the mantovanni mosh pit last year?
My favourite gig was going to see Bowie a few years ago - what a day telling Vernon Kay to get Suede do a great great outside in one of the biggest downpours I've ever been in and then the man himself I was only a little from the front. He was amazed that hardly anyone moved through the rain waiting for him to come out.
Plus this lovely girl who looked like a Velvet underground cast off insisted on groping my arse through the gig wink
Do you know i never been that lucky. I did get squeezed by an older woman (and I'm being generous here) who was drinking white lightening outside the Trafford Centre last year. Come to think of it I think she was after my wallet.
Best concert for me Nina Simone at Ronnie Scotts Truly cool nite for wanna be posers
The Eagles smile
Definitavely Bowie 1983 Last night of the tour Milton Keynes bowl.
