Ok, so what is your favourite James Bond movie and why?
For us it has to be "Tomorrow Never Dies"... We know, We know it's not a Connery one, but we just love the action in it and Jonathan Pryce is a fab villain, plus Fran does like a bit of old Pierce Brosnan, and the babes aint too bad too!!!
BUT
We love ALL the Connery ones too, and don't mind the Roger Moore ones (or Dad as we know him...pm us for details..lol). Timothy Dalton was just never gonna settle to the role whilst he was still playing Shakespeare characters...(Will, did you have a hand in his decision to leave the franchise?)
HOWEVER,
probably most controversial of all we actually liked George Lazenby...or was it just that fab music for OHMSS???????
Tell us your faves....

Connery, Brosnan, Moore and Dalton. Because each brought a diferent 'side' to Bond.

Moore gives the humour, Connery the depth of character (and the odd bit of sadism), Dalton the gravitas and finally there's Brosnan who manages to combine all three, as well as make Bon'ds professionalism look less jokey than Moore did.

Byron...thank you...you too appreciate Connery's sadism...true to the original character..and Brosnan has that too...cold blooded killer (see Tomorrow Never Dies)...oh how I love this character..lol
Stu of the " Fran &..." variety.

I'm not a Bond fan, but I do find Connery's interpretation of the character the most appealing. No, not cos I fancy him (I don't) but because he doesn't look as poncey as the others.

There is also the fact that Brosnan got to snog Denise Richards! passionkiss
I've read some of the key Fleming books, and think Brosnan is close to the written character -
- but Brosnan comes a commendable second to Sean Connery for me because of the combination of convincing physique and looks (handsome, slightly ruthless etc) and he does act Bond well.
Connery was also in the classic James Bond films - who can deny that?
From Russia With Love gets my vote as being well written and directed - right combination of action and fantasy - yet retaining grittiness.
And how's about that in-train cabin fight between Connery and Robert Shaw? One of the best accomplished film fights ever!
Sean Connery: he gave the character more depth and was more believable. The humour, so much a part of the recipe, was more natural, and, as has been said, he could move very quickly from humour to sadistic killer.

Brosnan is great, but it got to be Timothy Dalton in License to Kill... The way he uses snippets of information to turn his enemy against his friends and leads him up the garden path, cold, calculating, and brilliant...
 Eeek is that the time, and me only sneaking on for 5 as other half asleep... Night all...

Night Tall n Hairy....
though can't agree with you on Mr" my tights are too tight" Bond (TD)....cold..hmmm...is that just his acting style...calculating...maybe...on his way to the bank with the dosh from the film in his pocket...brilliant...too right..when the credits rolled.
Just kidding really...Love that movie too!
Warming the Bed
Definitely Dalton - over the years I've collected all of the books, both Fleming's and latterly Gardner's updates and Dalton played him closest to the books...
Warming the Bed
I'd go for Dalton. His Bond mirrors Fleming's character very closely IMO, as someone said above, the Bond from the book is extremely ruthless and calculating. The Moore gags, or the Connery style don't allow for the character's came across as being far more efficient.
