Bury have a trialist playing in the reserves this afternoon called Freedom Pigott.
Brilliant!
If I was a betting man I would hazard a guess that he was christened when dear old Lester was sent to prison for tax avoidance. smile
...or maybe when he got released!
Mike
what about Barrington Belgrave now theres a name
Edson Arantes do Nascimento
Maybe not the best name for a footballer.
But the best footballer the world has ever seen!!!
cant remember his first name properly, think it is Paolo Wachop, but is sounds great to me everytime I see him on the screen.
Guylain Ndumbu Nsungu...getting on for a whole team there...
Mike
.
Zinedine Zidane
Mahama Vahirua
Vikash Dhorassoo
Not obvious, but they're all French biggrin

The team i follow use to have a player by the name of Fred Flanders smile All simpson's fans should smile at that. Theres also the ex charlton player by the name of SHITU, think hes at QPR now. Paolo Wanchope pronounced "one chop" is a GOD, but i do have a mate who always pronounces his name "wank hope" lol which to me sounds like how you should say wanc-hope
Magnificent name, Shittu, isn't it. If he was abused by a person in the crowd during a game, and did an Eric Cantona on them, would it be a case of the Shittu hitting the fan?
Mike.
QPR also have a player named DOUDOU as well as Shittu
There is a footballer ( I believe Dutch) called SHITE
Then of course there is the Leicester player - DICKOV
and there again the well known Scottish player - Jamie McSporran
and the German - Kuntz
That will do for the moment
Paul
There has also been until recently a goalkeeper called SEAMAN.
Mike.
Ex West Ham and Birmingham City player Julian DICKS
EX Chelsea(i think) keeper big Billy Foulk
" " player Ron "chopper" Harris wonder if he was vwe or vvwe ?
Im sure if we dung deep enough we could find some really great ones.
There was also a Bristol City manager in the 70s named Alan Dicks. Once when a section of the crowd were unhappy with team performances, they started calling for him to resign.... a chorus of "DICKS OUT!"
Mike.
Clint Easton from Norwich, i think Mr and Mrs Easton were having a laugh.
Are you feeling lucky punk? Go ahead, make my day.....!
"Norwich City, Premier league and having a laugh"
come on you yellows. biggrin

And Tim Flowers, which leads to the question, do women prefer Seaman or Flowers? confused :? :?
I used to look forward to hearing the commentator say "That's Seaman with a clean sheet!!!" Or "Berger on the counter with a chip!!!" lol
Then there's the 3 footballers you can put on the barbeque????
Cole, Berger and ............................... Wanchope !!!! wink
And....... Man City were going to name one end of thier new ground after their former great captain Colin Bell, until they realised it would be known as the Bell End !!!!!! smile :) :)
And then there was Nwankwo Kanu at Arsenal, known just as Kanu !!!!!!!

I haven't heard of ANY of these people!!! redface - except David Seaman of course!
I used to like football - until I was about 9 or 10. Then I discovered proper games like rugby and cricket lol :bounce: . Of course, I realise that those games are a little beyond some people - so football serves its purpose. It keeps those who never grew up happy!!
Will - checks list to make that he has offended most people. *tick* and then runs for cover quickly, grabbing a case of Merlot on his way out and hoping that he can hide in one of Arti's outbuildings
What can I do while in hiding? Sit and ponder why a thoroughly good chap like Sarge who is obviously witty, intelligent and an all round good egg can be a lager drinking fotball fan!! dunno I love connundra!

I suggest that one case of Merlot is not enough for the amount of time that you need to stay away.... evil
