Why dont we use this thread to talk about the bands?
Perhaps start another about the political issues!

Go somewhere else to discuss the blunter points of politics, money and bad governance. Here it's about the music. No more hijacking.

Have I missed Kaiser Chiefs???

Kaiser Chiefs are playing philly hunny.....
on a different matter i think it is sad that even on a day like this when there have been hundreads of thousands of people marching on the streets of edinburgh.... there are still some people who are apathethic to the meaning behind the concert...
but as you said that is for a different thread... why let the reason for the concert spoil the good music hey.... sad :( :(

Are we anaesthetised yet?
Pinkies?
Money! What a gas! Grab that pile with both hands and make a stash!
How prophetic!
Are we having fun yet?

Mr D Sade
I really want to like you, but you are pissing me off!
Start a thread about the political aspects - I might even agree with you - but fuck off out of this thread!
wink
just saw roxy music playing in knew they had reformed for the event surprised but still one of my all time fave bands and they sounded to the floyd excellent they are too .hope they play the wall
Philly?? Damn it - watching the wrong channel!! Thanks Sean. xx x
As for the troll - he won't be bothering us any more tonight. Tomorrow could be a different matter but I' ve had enough of sniping, bitter comments and sheer baiting of people who are having a good time.

Watching Pink Floyd now, a cold shudder is running through me. Being an ex-punk i have seen so many bands reform and look very sad, but Floyd .. it all looks so natural and right.
Matt
I last saw PF in 80/81 (can't remember which redface ) in Rio - they were shit hot then, and even 20 odd years later they can still get it together. cool 8-)
Pity I missed Roxy Music - anyone got it on tape ;)

I was never into Pink Floyd - does that lead singer remind you of Richard Gere? Or do I mean Harrison Ford??
lol

AAAAAhhhhhhhhh - but I was young when it was great to be young biggrin lol cool
45 and proud :P
WOW ! ! !
You all hear that ???!!!
Pink Floyd as brilliiant as ever ! !
Nothing more needs to be said.
(Wish I 'd stuck a video in )
well i think the floyd and the who have just shown the young generation of pop acts just how good u have to be to sing live. the best acts by miles but a very enjoyable nite and well worth watching i think most would agree
i think that status quo should have opened the show with rocking all over the world
ok crap song but how fitting?

Poor Choice of closing act. Robbie or madonna would have nailed the show. Hes struggling to sing!

Agree that Macca is the wrong choice to close the show but personally I would not choose Robbie or Madge, as much as I like them both. I'd have closed the show with The Who or Pink Floyd (along with Keane earlier) who to me have been the acts of the day.

The Who have just taken the Number 1 slot..................
We Won't Get Fooled Again is just brilliant.............

What a lovely irony. biggrin

wow macartney didnt know george michael was coming on... impromptu or what!!

He did! GM told Jo Whiley that Paul had invited him on stage. GM has a cold and was too 'snotty' to sing his own set.
lol
OH!
Now they show Kaiser Chiefs!!
Bedtime...
confused
I loved U2 especially when they sang "one" - had a few tears in my eyes!! Missed most of the gig cos i was at flippin work, still maybe there will be a DVD.
Well I've been watching all day.. but for me it did't really kick off until The Who took to the stage. And then Pink Floyd just played a set they could have done 30 years ago or so, no kidding! They look a hell of a lot older, but fuck who cares, they played as well as they ever did. An excellent set and I was really pleased to see Roger Waters enjoying himself again with his old band mates. Will this lead to more Pink Floyd classic line up dates I wonder, I'd like to think so.
LC
Pink Floyd! asus, what a rush, what a flash back!
Incredible.
Hanging on in quiet desperation... after all, that's our way.

I think he did as it was in this today's Daily Mail....... and George said so when interviewed by Jo Whiley earlier
And my votes go to Who & Floyd as the best by far!! I'm showing my age like many others on here. Even my 10 year old grudgingly admitted they were "o.k." biggrin
Ant.

What I said!
Best band for me: The Who. Lots of others were good, many others were very good but The Who made the staying in all day worth it. o
Worst ones: Pete Doherty and Maria Carey. But they didn't spoil the evening for me at all, I just washed some dishes and went to the loo to miss them.
Roll on Edinburgh now.
biggrin :D

I played 'who are you' recently in my car when giving a young colleague a lift and he only knew it cos it's the theme of CIS - and had the cheek to ask me who was singing.
