My worst recieved was when my ex hubby was in control of that sort of thing as the kids were to young to do it.
One year I recieved a bag of gobstoppers, a low fat cook book, and a bag of mishaped chocolates!!
I think he was trying to tell me something, and had gone off me!! wink lol
I got a Yoyo once :lol2:
i remember one year when i was ickle (about7ish) i took my saved up pennies to the local shop which had a very limited stock as it was only a small village shop but for some reason i thought oven gloves would make a top pressie i was dead chuffed with my choice my mum made all the right noises bless her but now i look back on it i think nooooooooo even a bunch of hand picked daffs would of made a better pressie lol
My mum doesn't believe in mother's day.
So I do mother's day often throughout the year! Usually with flowers! wink
Hehe... I had a hand made rosette that looked very much like it said "No. 3 Mum".
The then Mr Lovely and I looked at one another and just shook with silent hilarity, desperate not to hurt daughter-in-chief's feelings. She hadn't been writing very long.
I wore it all day. "Look! I'm an inadequate mother!"
When I was about 11, I bought my mum a dishmop ... well, it's the thought that counts isn't it?
Sugar x
When my brother and i were ickle (i was about 8) we kept asking mum what she would like for Mothers Day. Her reply in the week leading up to the day was always "A little bit of peace and quiet".
Come the big day we dutifully presented mum with her card and gift. A small box, filled with cotton wool and written on the bottom "A little bit of peace and quiet - we love you", then we crept away. Think that present lasted all of about an hour after which my brother and I were at each others throats again (well she only asked for a little bit after all lol)
To this day she still has that box
The best present I receive each year from my son who is now 6, is a huge hug, a kiss and "I love you mummy" - its better than any shop bought present in my eyes

The local radio station I listen to on my way to work in the mornings announced the results of a servey this week.
Apparantly of several thousand mums questioned, the top wanted present was.......
A day without the kids
So, the peace and quiet was actually spot on.

Awwwww so funny when you look back. I done similar and bought my mum a cheese grater :lol2:
Haven't got a best, cos all the pressies are so special, and so apt for their ages. The plastic daffodils were rather wonderful though :lol2: Just perfect :inlove:
Worst one was nothing cos daughter 'forgot' or 'didn't have time' or something. That only happened the once evil
