This is just a thought and apologies if it has been said or done before but how about doing a birthday list with everyones birthday. Your thoughts are welcome.
That would be a very long list with the number of members on the site.
I can't see the point anyway. If there was one, someone would take it upon themselves to post a 'Happy Birthday' thread for each individual. That would result in the Cafe being full of those type of posts.
Maybe one day day though - based on date and not the individual member.
We've all posted on happy birthday threads in the last few days, haven't we!
Albeit of people we know and love.
That's why I thought that Perhaps we had a 'Todays' or 'This Weeks' birthdays thread and banned individual member birthday threads it could make sense.
Just a thought!
Sorry I didn't make it clear, I meant one thread from the start.
my birthday was a week sunday ago, finally made 30
I quite like the birthday threads personally. There's only this time of year when there's loads as half of the forum seems to be Libran  . Usually they don't occur that often.
Wouldn't that help scammers and fraudsters though?
If we did it'd only be a matter of time before there were credit cards for Mr. Sexyguy87
Well you could easily setup (I say easily because Mark would do all the hard work) an automatically update-able thread or link that could show you the members born on that day. This could be either their forum register date or their birthday. It would require a lot of updating and if everybody kept clicking on the link and running the query it may have other implications on the site. Not good.
Their birthday would have to be entered into the database though and to be honest I'm not 100% confident on giving out that much 'real' information on the web. You can know my age but not my date.
You would be assuming, that everybody gives their correct birthdate when asked on these kind of sites (as in Forums and NOT NECESSARILY swinging forums).
Whilst we are happy to share our ages with the world, we never enter our real birthdates, as we value our pivacy/anonymity, but we do tell people when we meet them, if they want to know.
