Has anybody ever tried to write a story for Black Lace books?
I love black lace. Virgin publishing has taken them over and they're now publishing hot titles with regular looking covers, so you can read them on the train and stick to the seat before you get to your stop.
The trouble with most dirty books is the covers always have some bird dressed in a leather corset with her naked but sticking out, while licking her lips holding a whip, with a title like ; House of submission' Jennys heat'. Not exactly the kind of thing you want to be reading when Mrs McTavish your neighbour sits down beside you and says 'what are you reading dear?'
I think they should come with plain brown wrappers.
Well, that rather depends... does Mrs McTavish own a whip and a leather corset?
Dreamer Helen;
Have you tried It's full of interesting things for writers, and readers too.
....is also very good.
Mike.
Haven't read any Black Lace books for ages now!!! I also love The Story of O and Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty trilogy :twisted:
Anne Rice is brilliant, isn't she.
Black lace have evolved over the years. They're much sharper nowadays. Or you can pick up packs of them on ebay.
I got a new blacklace from Waterstones called' Wicked words, sex on holiday'. It's really good.
Am I the only one who find Black Lace Books predictable and unchellenging?
If you look at the erotic-readers web page, you can access writers guidelines for all the major publishers. Black lace has changed over the years and they list all the done to deaths and the 'we don't wants'. I read one about a goth girl who was screwing a politician on top of tombs in grave yard. All the writers are totally different in their approach and style with the newer titles. More twist in the tale in the Wiked words series. I like them. They're fun and light. It's not brain surgery, but at least it's not readers' wives.
i have black lace records.
do they count.
i am just about to do " the conga " down the street.
and off to see the the music man from down my, to see wht he can play.

Hi Eagerslut;
You can get Blacklace books from Waterstones, and the big WHSmiths, sex shops that sell toys and lingerie usually have a selection. I get mine from the believe it or not, Oxfam book shop. They have a top shelf full of donated Nexus (male fantasy bondage /horsey nonsense), and Blacklace. Or Ebay is a goldmine of them. Also Amazon has them all.
Virgins new line is called Cheek.
