stay away from the Savoy hotel, it can be cheaper than the B+Bs but its a total dump we booked and paid for a week and left after one night
If you're looking for a swinging hotel, I would avoid Buddy's. Just my humble opinion, but its minging!
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ totally agree!!!!
I would just avoid Blackpool, we stayed a week, advertised our visit for 2 months on 3 sites and couldn't find a single person interested in meeting up
Sorry Blackpool and we don't really blame you for our shortcomings, we obviously aren't what you wanted and we respect that but had to say it for the giggle :evil2:

why would any one want to go blackpool and going in december geezzzz
Don't get us wrong we loved Blackpool, it was Sasha's first visit to a seaside resort and the illuminations were good (but not great no lazers and very few decorated trams as in the past) we will be returning there very soon, just a little dissapointed that we didn't get a meet with anyone for the 3 of us (me Sasah and the blonde girl in our latest pictures) but that is life.
Blackpool is a British Icon, it's Hayday back in the 40s, 50s n 60s ranks it as one of the worlds finest places to visit, people didn't travel abroad for leisure in those days unless they were extremely rich or extremely lucky, so Blackpool was brilliant, sadly the people that could have continued to keep it that way, the Council and the business owners did too little too late to keep it at the forefront of holiday venues, the town and the facilities within it have been allowed to fall into disrepair and desperately needs taking into the 21st Century. European fund grants should have been applied for years ago, they applied for the gaming licences too late so much could have been done and wasn't but it is still a unique experience to visit there.
Stumbled across this thread, and thought we'd add our tupence worth. We moved up from the Midlands 7 years ago to Blackpool, and although we agree with many of the sentiments, we also challenge the fact that its any worse than any other major town in any country or corner of the world!
Its a resort, accept it and love it for what it is, fun and frolics in a slightly damp region, which means coats might well be needed, but you can still have a smile on your face!! Personally we feel the council needs to accept that family holidays here are long gone. When they do that Blackpol can encourage the stags, hens, and swingers, without fear of upsetting anyone.
As for the hotels, yep, there's a lot of crap here. If you wish to check a place out before going, look at any review sites. Bookings should be based on reviews, not on what any hotel says about itself. Just make sure they are independant verified reviews, too many owners know how to add their own (just look for capital letters used in one swingers hotel reviews here!) lol.
Have fun if you do come, we do!!

Your right it is on a par with other towns in the UK, but (and remember I like Blackpool) you cannot compare it with other towns in the UK, only with other holiday destinations in the UK, people visiting Blackpool are doing so for the attractions and spending money on a holiday, so it has to be compared with the likes of the London attractions, Brighton, the Welsh seaside resorts, The Devon Coast, Clacton, Scarborough and the inland places like Thorpe Park, Alton Towers etc.
We will be returning to Blackpool this coming summer, but credit where credit is due and other towns have not made the mistake that Blackpool has by failing to update and control it's hotels better (some have of course)
After the M55, keep on the road that brings you out by the Aldi in Waterloo Road. When you get to the traffic lights look diagonally right and you will see a Chinese restaurant. That is also a hotel/guest house and I always stay there c/w four poster beds. Its the best place Ive stayed in Blackpool.
And as for the Savoy. Yeah totally agree with everything thats been said.
