Can you read it does it make any sense.
Do you know when someone is giving you good positive body signals.
ME
Not a chance, not a clue, it would be easier if people just wrote it on thier forehead (I would probally miss that as well).
How good or bad are you all this observation.
Do you get it or even understand it.
Do you know that you are giveing off body signals, wheather they be positive or negative towards others.
Mirroring (subtely copying the other person's movement, stance etc) is a good sign that someone is interested. I know I do intentionally do that sometimes.
Look at the way a person's legs/feet are pointing when they are sitting down. If they are pointing towards you most of the time they are probably interested.
Sometimes people touch their faces, or move their hair etc to get you too look at their face.
All very subtle but if you know what to look for you can pick up on it most of the time.
Alternatively, if they jump you the minute you walk through the door then that can also be a positive sign of interest wink

Sums me up too rolleyes
Seems to me that a lot of the non-verbal comms is subconscious - when you have a "hunch" about someone, you don't know why exactly, but you know whether they're telling the truth or whether you can trust them etc. And when they fake the body language, you know it's fake. It's why nobody trusts politicians or car dealers.

So true! Vibes can become very intense and fun in the right circumstances.......or can get you into sooooooo much trouble without you conciously inviting it! redface

Ballroom dancing is still probably the best way to sense your partners body language.
Yes sorry relapse. Body language is very important and one of the reasons why some of the meanings in posts are misread, without it we lose so much information that we normally take in alongside the spoken word. I can spot both positive and negative body language as I'm sure you can you just probably don't register it. As Ice said it's a sub concious thing.

Perhaps you should have sto. OOOOOOOPs I mean borrowed something, then he would have to made an approach to you lol
I'm useless with Body Language as well.....a naked lady could stand in front of me saying "how about it"...and i still wouldn't get the hint!
But isn't it also in the eyes?

When's your day in court? lol
I'm useless at spotting body language, unless its fairly blunt, which is probably why since ancient times I've not generally had much luck with women. redface
However, it always surprises me when I arrange a date with a lady that I haven't met before, & she says "how will we recognise each other". It is usually the easiest thing in the world to spot someone who is waiting for a person they haven't met before. I've only got it wrong once, & that lady didn't appear to want to meet anyone at all - no idea why she bothered turning out  .

I wonder if that "mirroring" translates into a verbal version here in the forums? Interesting thought.....yip!

Im a people watcher and study peoples actions, they way they stand, what they are doing with their hands or arms, touchiing others etc. It speaks volumes about how they feel about the other person they are talking to etc. smile

Easy when you're watching other people interact yes, but I find it very difficult to 'read' peoples' body language when it's me who is talking to them confused
Does this help?

That's why emails and posts on here can be so easily mis-interpreted biggrin
What about in real life then? How does that get misinterpreted?

its all about the eyes..its really hard to expain on here...if i see you at a munch or a party whatever.. i show ya..its about staring in to each other eyes..look away after a few secs..look back in say ten secs later..if she looking most intrested ..
copying is a good sign as well...u take a mouthful of drink..they do.... you light a fag..they do...bah bah bah....it shows they got a interest in what u doing...
touching hair is also one what people say...its a clear sign of being nervous around u..but nervous in a good way...i myseif would not say its cause people want see your face...its cause they like why is he looking at me...what should i do....shit..
if u talking to someone and they like using there hands while they talk is another good sign..most italian blokes will do this while they talking.......cause its a sign of being intrested in what the other person is saying..and u are getting in deep with there conversion..and these boys know the tricks of the trade.....
folded arms is a no no sign..say u need to go loo..get away quick
theres loads i could go on all day....you start picking up the vibes....main one is the look in to the eyes and read the signs..
just watch what others do...or move to italy...
sorry about dodgy spelling as well.
I can be a bit slow on the uptake when it comes to body language too
The penny sometimes drops when it gets to this stage. biggrin

cool :silly: :high-smile:

move to italy your kiddin there the worse for mixed signals they wore there hats back to front in world war 2 to confuse the enermy it looked like they were running away pmsl
I completely miss body language when it's me in the conversation/involved.
Sometimes spot it if I'm a 3rd party.

I thought puling hair across the face in response to being looked at was supposed to be a bad sign, like trying to hide because you didn't want to be looked at. That's what I was told.

That makes sense. The people involved in the non-verbal conversation are, I believe,
doing almost all of it subconsciously. Someone not directly involved can have an
objective, analytical viewpoint. If you were to start analysing your own body language,
I think you'd become too self-conscious to allow it to happen naturally. You may think
you "miss" it when you're involved, but I think subconsciously you're taking it all in.
