I'll have you know that in the heady, sunny days of '76 (when we had summers) there was... oh what the hell...you'd never believe me anyway!

:edit: I believe that was before my drinking career took off...hehe

I seldom drink these days, but when I was a youngster alcohol only had to satisfy 3 main points
1 it was palatable
2 I could afford it
3 it had the desired effect
Suppose I was a bit of an alchy chav rather than a booze snob.

I am loving this thread, I AM a booze snob, but not all the time, depends on what I am doing etc,
If I am having a nice G&T, Hendricks is fantastic, (though I did drink a Welsh gin once and that was wonderful)
Vodka, if it is to be mixed, any old crap will be fine, but if it isn't, Stoli, Grey Goose etc are great.
I won't drink most lagers (though I do have a thing for Sol on a hot summers day, even though most people say it is Mexican workers p**s)

Absolute Booze Snob
Totally agree about the Hendricks the bestest gin by miles. Perfect for sipping from the finest bone china.
However - have often used the quality formula
volume x strength / price = best
Back in the day Old Brown Sherry beat even White Lightening and Mad Dog 20/20 into a pukey pan when it came to pissedness per pound.
Good Times, Good Times.
