Bra Measuring Guide

About a year or so ago we wanted to know the true size of my boobs as they had started getting larger from going on the depot injection - thanx depot! :thumbup:
They continue to grow each time I get an injection and the last time the mr measured me I was a 38C :shock: When we met I was a 34A. He has just measured me again and now I'm a 40C :shock: :shock: :shock: I had gone to Mark's n Sparks on friday gone but the only assistant in the lingerie section was taking forever dealing with a customer and was making me even more nervous than I originally was, so we left the shop.
The thing is, my perception of bra sizes is that a 32E would be someone slim with huge boobs, someone who is a 40B would be a larger lady with smaller boobs. Im a size 10 but a 40C :huh: which to me doesn't seem right. The Mr doesn't agree with me.

i def would not say you are a 40 :shock:
i would concur your fear and go get measured at marks or somewhere like that maybe la senza they will try different ones on to find the best fit as there is big differences between makes and different styles imo ya can never tell until ya try a bra on wether it will fit properly or not

Can't say this in a nice way, sorry - that site is bullshit! lol

According to them, I'm a 40B. Yeah, righto. I haven't been a B cup since i was about 15.
I wear 34DD. Any bigger on the band size and it's too slack. Smaller cups and I'm bursting over the top - hideous!
I got measured in M&S years ago and came away with a selection of expensive bras I hated.
Did you not watch the Trinny and Susannah show a few weeks ago where they went round loads of high street stores in disguise, got measured up and every shop measured them differently!
I try bras on and pick what looks right and feels comfy.

Haven't bothered to try it but this cannot be right. Your perception above is correct.
No way can you be a size ten with a 40" chest. And if you're boobs have been growing then the cup size would have increased not your frame. You'd have had to be body building to go from a 32" to a 40" frame!
I always think the standard way of measuring never works anyway, go to a reuputable bra measuring service. Usually large dept stores with specialised lingerie sections are better, personally I think M&S always get it wrong based on mine and friends experiences.

It worked for me.
Band measurement 30, which is even so add 4 inches, 34.
Boob measurement 35, which is 1 inch more than band so a b.
I've tried to measure it again but unfortunately it always comes up with the same thing.
Where can I sign for those injectons?
If you're a size 10 I don't see how you can have a band measurement of 40.

If you're a size 10 I don't see how you can have a band measurement of 40.
With me, my band measurement was 33, odd number so add 5 = 38
My boob measurement was 40.
2 number gap = c so 40c

based on whats been said, it seems that these bra measuring things aren't accurate. No, I didnt see that programme Marya.
I wanted to see if this website was accurate and it 50/50 yes and no at the min.

That means you're 38c, which still seems quite big for a size 10.
I think just try some on till you find ones that fit properly. Go to a few different shops and get fitted maybe, and split the difference biggrin

I'd spent ages in 36d's- but I recently bought a 34e which fits much better!
So much of it is down to the style of bra. Wish I had smaller more pert ones so I could go bra-less though. confused

I've given up on what size I am, but a few years ago I went to Bravissimo to be measured for the first time. Foolishly I trusted them and spent a small fortune on bras in the size they said I was. I subsequently found out that they were wrong and had just squeezed me into the biggest size they made. Since then I have lost faith in boob measuring and have a drawer full of bras that don't fit. OMG, I'd only go bra-less if i was ur size!! The Mr used to always say to me to go bra-less when i was a B cup. I'd be like, no way jose!! I want it to look like I actually have boobs hence wear a bra with chicken fillets lol

i go bra less sometimes normaly if im going on night out and the top i wanna wear just dont look right with a bra
other times i go cupless rolleyes

the rest of the time i have my hammock sacks on lol

You should pay a visit to Sadie Ms C hun, she'll sort you out!..
It is possible that a slim person can have great big boobies but generally an increase in bust size is down to weight gain or in your case hormone injections.
I was really slim some years ago and my boobs disappeared to a modest 36B. Now they're back up to a 40D and I hate them, really hate them. I'd much rather be back at the former sizing.

I used to be a 36c but after loosing weight and having implants I went to a 34 E
now to look at I dont think I look an E cup but apparently if you back size goes down then your cup size is likely to go up, it does depend on the store you get them from but I went to La Senza in leeds and Ann Summers and I am always a 34 E there and they fit perfect and they have some very nice ones for the larger cup
I cant see how a size 10 can messure at a 40 in back size as i am a size 12 and 34 round back.
Bravisimo!!!! I went in there the sales girl didnt have a clue, they had all these photos of women in bra on the wall and when I couldnt find them they said they didnt stock them anymore!!! over priced in there too i think

The BBC guide one got me spot on, and the victoria secrets one was a cup size off.
I'm a size 16 and my size is 36F so a 40 surely can't be a 10 :shock:
Hate bra shopping with a vengeance sad

All those really nice bras come in smaller sizes or worse padded only (trust me I need a padded bra like I need a gun to my head), or they have massive straps and I hate internet shopping.
My trouble is the more I lose weight the bigger my cup size becomes :cry:

i been in la senza once i went around embarrassing my mate by saying i like this bra which nipple shall i put it on etc etc she went very red and we got lots of filthy looks i then asked the lady if she had anything to fit me she said try m&s :shock:

I measure 33cm round my back but had to add 5 onto it with it being an odd number. :doh: that makes ya a 38 which is still to big 33 +5 is 38 lol

From this site it says:
If the resulting band size is an odd number like 33", you can usually go to the next even band size (34"), but you may also want to try the next lower band size (32").
I was a 33 band size but doesn't say to add 5, with it being an odd number biggrin

(unlike the BBC site).
Theres no way I can get into a 32 sized bra but Im very happy it telling me Im a 34. So I measure 33 band size and 40 boob size (40 minus 34 = 6) which makes me a 34E......How I'd wish i was that size though lol

if the difference is:
less than 1 inch = AA cup
1 inch = A cup
2 inches = B cup
3 inches = C cup
4 inches = D cup
5 inches = DD cup

People have had good and bad experiences with these bra measuring services but it seems to me, there isn't an actual store that can be exact as to what bra size you are, it seems to be the person who's actually measuring you :dunno:
However, its been interesting reading, people sharing their experiences.

i thinks ya have a duff tape measure or did mr cream have his hands under the tape lol lol

:lol: :lol: every shop/site will measure ya differently its down to the person and the bra trying on is the only way
oh and the bit between ya boobs is supposed to sit flat on your skin cool
