brave or foolish?

Having been off work several months after making a grievance statement re bullying / harrassment,I finally went back to work.
{1} to prove to the bully he couldnt get away with making my life hell.
{2} to piss him off cos he thought I wouldnt have the "audacity" to report him
{3}I love my job
My friends have made various comments from
"are you nuts?" to "well done"
Has / would anyone else do the same as me?

If you have returned to work before the grievance has been dealt with, you are actually saying it isn't that big an issue.
If you have returned because your employer did not keep you on full pay then your employer is at fault.
Speak to your HR manager and find out what is going on.

p.s. In the meantime... buy a diary and record day & time of all conversations with Business Managers regarding your grievance

I cowered from bullies at school.
I encounter a bully at work I did not cower, as no bully will get to me again.
Stand up be proud and they soon leave you alone, they are only strong when they feel they have a reaction.

my ex had to go through it and she was an HR professional for a major bank and it still went on.
I suggest you get a really good union rep or solicitor to help.

Thank you to everyone who replied.
I admit my 1st day back was worrying....... then i saw the guy in question and i thought "feck what a loser he is"
It took me 3 attempts to accidently break his coffee mug lol

Seriously, at the end of the day......bullies are very insecure people who prey on people who are at a low ebb or vunerable.
Once bullies have been "confronted" and stood up to, they lose the so called power they think they have.
With hindsight, would I have made the complaint if I had've known how long HR took to deal with my complaint?
Yup, honesty, pride and stubbornness are my main virtues smile

It's a long, long story and not one I really want to go into again but you should never put up with being picked on at work. It was detrimental to my health so I did something about it. I was lucky, it doesn't always go in your favour but I would absolutely do it again regardless of the outcome.
I'm still here. He still doesn't like me but that's what I call tough titty! I just get on with it and don't rise to his baiting now. Unfortunately, he's in with the bricks and there's no sign of that changing.

well done,,bullies exist in every part of society including here and what it needs is people to stand up to them and then watch them cower away to some dark corner,,once again well done for standing up for yourself and not letting them win biggrin

I reported a work place bully once.
I was very lucky that both the company I worked for, and the customer whose site I worked at, took it very seriously.
I had a meeting the very next day with my MD and the customer team leader who were both very supportive.
The work place bully was "re-educated" for want of a better word as he really didn't realise what effect his attitude was having.
Well done for going back.

Went into work friday the 13th and was given my redundancy letter rolleyes

Not wanting to bore folks with the pathetic reasons lol

I left work at 1pm with a nice redundancy package, went for a job interview at 4pm and got the job at 5pm biggrin

I once worked for a large company ( the one that taps their arse's when they saved money )
I put in a grievence against someone I felt was bullying me and other members of staff, HR and other members of management acted appauling, I had to fight every step of the way and they tried to turn it round on me at ever step. I eventually left for another job but I do know this person still does it now and gets away with it!!! This person has had a few grievances put in against them but nothing ever gets done as the people always gets put down.
I now work for a completly different company and had a problem I couldnt sort out with a supervisor so I went to see my manager and it got sorted the next working day!!
You cant win em all but I wouldnt ever let it stop me again if I had a problem I couldnt sort out with said person.
