Well just got back from the Bristol munch as a first timer. Thank you Tweeky for arranging such a wonderful affair! I was amazed at the number of people and so diverse. We drank them dry of vodka and jack daniels, think they'd have us back lol! I nearly didn't go, and even walked passed the venue twice but glad I eventually mustered the courage.
Have to say though as a shy retiring hippie it bought a few things home:
i) I need to chat to a WHOLE lot more people here online before I go to a munch, being a wallflower just don't work out when everyone else is chatting away, self-confidence is definitely the key and sadly I really lacked it, goddamit, was always shite at networking.
ii) Dress up, the squirrel t-shirt really was a poor effort on my part. Knew I should have worn the funky velvet suit. Maybe next time.
iii) Long hair on a guy really isn't the thing in swinging circles, felt like an emo kid meeting someones parents lol, c'est la guerre, it'll be back in fashion one day just you wait!
Thanks to those I chatted to and to everyone I smiled at, sorry about that! Interesting evening and next time hopefully I'll be a little more sorted. Was hit with the clue stick tonight :-)

Want to post my own thanks too.
First and foremost to the Tweekys. Splendid organisation, a huge amount of work (and no doubt stress) must have gone into arranging all that. We are all hopelessly indebted to you worship

We thought the venue was great. Good to have an upstairs (quite rightly crowded and noisy) and then a downstairs as a little chill-out zone for those who wanted to chat.
Hope the venue were happy with the event (they seemed to be from my conversations with them), and that they might have us back.
Unfortunately, we had to leave relatively early (thought that was 11:30 so not exactly desperately early), and would have liked to have chatted to more people. Full credit to Sappho who was actually feeling ghastly and was a real trooper to have gone at all, let alone stay as long as we did kiss

I completely agree with Trickster's first comment. We felt that we needed to have chatted to a lot more people before the event so that there were at least some names we knew - and who might have recognised us. We did rather feel like wallflowers - but that was our fault and no-one else's. I shall have to spend some more time in the Forum but also the Chatroom (note to self).
Those we met:
Steve - Fantastic to catch up with you after more than 5 years :shock:. Thanks for spotting us and coming over to talk. We were feeling really rather nervous and out of it until you did that. You made the evening for us. Thank you :thumbup:
Tweeky - already thanked you both for the organisation of it all, but a real pleasure to meed you in the flesh too.
Couplefunuk - It was a real highlight of the evening to meet you both personally. You were just as friendly and genuine in real life as you always seem in the forum. Hope that wasn't the last time we meet! wink

Anais - such a pleasure talking to you in person. We both thought you were lovely and would love to keep in touch.
Midschick - I have to confess that one of my missions for the evening was to say 'Hi' and have a quick chat to you. Mission accomplished, and well worth it. You were lovely.
Dan_n_Debra - thanks for coming over and syaing 'Hi'. Again, we both thought that both of you were great and the sort of people we would like to know better ( innocent

), and we felt bad that the noise level precluded us from having a sensible conversation.
We also managed to chat to JewlnMart, Iainmac, swcpl2005 (at least one half of you), Trixie-D-Lish and I'm sure there must have been others - but as Sappho will tell you, I'm rubbish at names.
Our first munch for over 5 years, and our only regret is that we didn't get to know some more names in advance so we could have chatted to you on the night.

It was great to meet you both eventually and you are both everything I had pictured and more :thumbup: .....
Had a laff walking Anais back into town to catch the last bus and a lovely portion of donner meat and chips to round the night off.....
Stopped back this morning and did a bit of the tourist thing and wandered round SS Great Britain and the Cathedral....
A very interesting place is Bristol :thumbup:

Tweeky's, we salute you. What a fab night. We drank them dry! Our first social on here for almost 5 years and made us realise how much we missed it. The venue was perfect. Well done you guys kiss

Met some lovely people - although there were many more we didn't meet sadly.
Anais - What a star you are. It was good to finally meet you. Think we left it too long to get up & dance - all the good tunes had finished :sad: Hope the freezer trick worked!
Will & Sappho. Great to finally put a face to the name, hopefully we'll meet again in the not too distant future.
Optix - I still can't place where I know you from, and it's been winding me up all day, but great to chat to you. Shy and retiring my arse! lol

Moab - What a lovely couple. Didn't get to talk to Mr a great deal unfortunately, he did seem the shy and retiring type - maybe next time.
Meeko! - It was freaky as all hell talking to you - you're a complete mini me of Mr Couplefunuk (you're his mini me - he's older than you :P lol)
Iainmac - You can talk! lol. Lovely chatting to you both.
Anyone else I chatted to but have missed - sorry, it's all a bit of a blur now. Hubby will be along later to add his thanks as he spoke to far more people than I did, the social butterfly that he is :lol:

Hello all
Its is the evening after the night before and Ive just about recovered after two lots of Ibuprofen and a resolve blink

First a big thank you to everybody that made the effort to be there. The turn out numbers and percentage wise was unbelievable compared to the research I had done. Research showed on average one third dont show without informing. We had at the end 131 confirmed on the list of which 120 showed up :thumbup: a brilliant effort from all of you.
Now an apology from me to all the people we wound up lol

It is I Mr Tweeky who arranged the whole munch but we had decided prior to going in that as lots of people thought it was Mrs Tweeky so just let her take the praise. We sat their with Mrs Tweeky commenting on all the effort she put in and how much work it was whilst having a giggle too.
Midschick36: Badge maker of legend. With the stuff I was doing in the last week I think making badges would have been one job too many so your efforts were very much appreciated. Guess we still owe you an or something :lol:
CouplefunUK: Thanks for the lift! Have remembered in my non drunken state that I didnt make a donation to the taxi pot, so next time we are out the taxi is on me biggrin

Also big thanks for helping with the door and sorting the name badges alphabetically and handing them out :D
Steve: Thanks for helping with the door. I must say my timing at going to the bar was fantasic! I left you at the door when no one had entered for ages then the second I left you in charge about 40 people all arrived on mass :lol: My work mates would say I am skilled at this :lol: Also big thanks for helping with the name badge sorting too.
dave2912: A big thanks for rounding up a collection :thumbup: The entire cost of the evening was recouped £180 plus £110 for the charity run by the pub which builds primary schools for children in the Congo (Congo? correct me if I am wrong) Very pleased :D a great contribution from everyone.
Anais: Great to see you again, so glad you made it and yes it has been too long :D
Chalove: Special thanks from Mrs Tweeky for pursuing her with a drink even though I kept dragging her off to mingle.
To everyone else, cus I made sure I went and spoke to everybody to get feedback, a big thank you for coming. Its impossible to name you all. I thought the evening was brilliant, no problems at all and a real pleasure to organise it for you all.

The question that I kept getting asked including today, will there be another? As long as the venue will have us back (I'll contact this week) I am happy to do another. Wont be anything big for Christmas though so next year maybe, when would people like it? I will probably do something smaller around Christmas time.

would just like to say a HUGE thank you to the Tweekys for organising a GREAT socail.
i doubt there is anyone that came home thinking hey have anything other than a great time.
Venue was great.. Smoking area a little small, but that may of been down to the fact, those annoying non smokers like myself was taking up the room.
was great meeting a whole load of new faces, and sorry for any that i never got to say hello to.
Foxy (jon_foxy) thank you for my specail dance.
Mr & Mrs Meridian, was great to see you both again after so long.
Couplefunuk thank you for putting up with my shy self, and was great chatting to. i think it will haunt us til lour dying day to where we know each other from. hope to catch up with you soon.

Great weekend and many thanks to the Tweeks for setting this up ( Tried to say thank you on the nite but we were speaking vodka language which is more difficult to understand than the Welsh language ! ). Had a top tidy time with our BB2 mates and thank you girls for telling Belle which outfit out of the 3 ( yes 3 !!!!!! as she wouldn't listen to my choice ) to wear. Oh and to Jon and Mr Merid for their comments :-). Done the usual putting faces to SH names as others did to us and now you know why Tony just has his arm in cam lol. It was a pleasure to also meet new faces and hopefully friends. A special mention to Cocksnoggers, who it was great to meet at last, for the use of their room for the 'after show party'. And to all who were there just remember that Tony and Mr Cocks would like their male bonding to come under the rule 'What goes on tour stay on tour' ;-). Also another special mention goes to Mrs Wills for giving us some advice for future socials. It went something like " Leave those f#@king welshcakes ( which she non affectionately called scones ) home ". She and Belle never stopped arguing with each other all nite and finally had to be pulled apart and told to sort out their differences in a jelly bath fight !! Thanks to all we spoke to for making it the weekend it was but every silver lining has a cloud. Mr Lush for talking to Belle Saturday afternoon thinking she was someone else and Mr Stenics for his Doctors note which caused the Pole Dancing dance off between him and Belle to be cancelled lol. The final word goes to Shaun who came home with a phone number but is too much of a gentlesheep to disclose her name but fell for her coloured crayons lol Thank you all xxxxx

Well, now the dust has well and truly settled, it's time for me to chime in.
Well done to the Tweekys and Thank You SO much, that was a fantastic night enjoyed by all, I'm sure. Was lovely to see you both again, we really should do it again sometime soon, and not leave it nearly 5 years!
Sadly now that I've left it this long I've totally forgotten everyone I spoke to, so I'm truly sorry, but to be fair I was rather drunk and my memory is shite at the best of times. Feel free to shout at me in the chatrooms!
Things I do remember though...
Alphabetising everyones names. Oooh that was fun!
Hiding from the landlord as he was looking for Karaoke singers
The "Meeko-clone" incident. The world is a lucky place to have such fine looking men, although it did feel a tad weird!
Bikes - the wheeled variety
Told you I had a shite memory. Someone tell me what happened! I know I had a good time though and really was gutted when 2am rolled round to end my evening.
Next time we'll make more of an effort to get to the pre-munch drinks - would have made the first hour of the evening feeling less awkward!

Hiya ....had a good time...i think!! lol

thanks to the tweekys for a great event. Was nice to speak to some of the people I see on chat a lot and also some new people....although if I forgot we spoke I do apologise as drinknig in the sun all afternoon seems to make my memory disapear!! at one point i remember ordering diet Jack Daniels!!
Well thanks again and will be trying to make some more socials in the future and try to remember more this time!!
