This week I will be driving well in excess of 1000 motorway miles.
Damn some of them are really boring.
So my question is, which stretch of motorway is the most boring.
My personal favourite is the M42 from Junction 6 down to Junction 3A. Birmingham NEC down to the start of the M40. Use it on a regular basis, often now limited to 50mph
Used the M606 for the first time today. All I want to know about that one.... Why? Couldn't really see the point to that one, unless the map designer still had ink left in his blue pen.

what’s it for?and as for the M40 ffs you need an in-flight movie just to stay awake on that one. High embankments are all very well for the surrounding areas and keeping down noise pollution, but by god don't they make for a boring journey

Tooooo many hours spent on the M4 over the last year back & forth visiting Mr W's terminally ill dad. I think I developed an allergy to that motorway.

There is a small motorway on the way into Southampton (M271 I think) It's about a mile long :shock:
The M42 which runs off from the A42 at j11 right past me and beyond is a pain in the arse. It was originally concrete and still has sections like it rather than being tarmaced....a nightmare in the rain.
I tend to use the M6 and M1 for Munches, but I actually like using them.....probably because I don't drive for a living and I can listen to my music as loud as I like and not have someone turn homicidal at me :giggle:

If i use the M1 i tend to use it nightime or really early morning no congestion and like you Dlep i like my music whilst driving. Me in my own little bubble eating up the miles. Some quality time with me.

Generally a 1000+ per week here. (96,000 miles in the last 3 years)
IMO they are all just as bad as each other!
M1, M40, M25, M4, A14, M11, A43, Severn toll @ , Dartford toll @£1, Blackwall Tunnel, M18, M6, etc etc
Nice places are MSS for the occassional coffee / orange juice and cakey bun!!!

The M6 going north from the M1jn all the way to M6jn 20A boring or what nothing to see well not at 2am :cry: , not even the prospect of a short skirted lovely

You too can play spot the foriegn trucker game!! its easy to do just drive along any motorway & they will find you !! coming hoofing past in there bloody great wagons doing more than the speed limit
poles , french , germans infact you spend enough time out there & your probably see a wagon from every EU country eventually but its those bloody Irish drivers that scare the hell out of me 
they come out of nowhere speeding past .

Mind you, for brain munching, mind bending boredom, try the autoroute between Le Havre and Calais - no one on it, nothing to see and it takes forever, and for some strange reason, everytime we use it, some git keeps adding some more kms to it so it goes on a bit further...
