This week I will be driving well in excess of 1000 motorway miles.
Damn some of them are really boring.
So my question is, which stretch of motorway is the most boring.
My personal favourite is the M42 from Junction 6 down to Junction 3A. Birmingham NEC down to the start of the M40. Use it on a regular basis, often now limited to 50mph
Used the M606 for the first time today. All I want to know about that one.... Why? Couldn't really see the point to that one, unless the map designer still had ink left in his blue pen.

I do 1000 motorway miles most weeks and have to say the M4 is the most boring motorway there is as well as having the drivers with the worst lane discipline.
The M606 is a pointless waste of a motorway classification... a decent A road could do the job without needing to be three lanes wide.
I've just spent the last few days dashing up and down the M1/M18/A1(M)/A1 with a little holiday along the A42 for fun - M1 is boring. Roadworks at M18 junction are a pain in the neck and some drivers are just inconsiderate twats.

im doing between 1000-1500 miles per week, which includes A12, M25 (via Dartford tolls) M23, thank god i have ipod
M20 from junction 6, where the roadworks are, most boring 2 hours I spent today, going nowhere fast
I like motorways, whizzing down them in a convertible with the top down at 150 miles an hour at 3am....paradise on the road
There is a small motorway on the way into Southampton (M271 I think) It's about a mile long
The M42 which runs off from the A42 at j11 right past me and beyond is a pain in the arse. It was originally concrete and still has sections like it rather than being tarmaced....a nightmare in the rain.
I tend to use the M6 and M1 for Munches, but I actually like using them.....probably because I don't drive for a living and I can listen to my music as loud as I like and not have someone turn homicidal at me :giggle:
If i use the M1 i tend to use it nightime or really early morning no congestion and like you Dlep i like my music whilst driving. Me in my own little bubble eating up the miles. Some quality time with me.
Driving back from Manchester when the M1 turns into the A1, it all looks the same for ages and ages and ages...
I only passed my test a few years ago and have yet to do a long distance travel. I know it's not a motorway, but when we went to Scotland last year, hubby drove us over Forth Bridge, now that seemed to take forever.
In jolly ol' England, the wonderful, exciting, I can't wait to drive on it... M40 certainly gets my vote.. my eyes are shutting just thinking abo......snnnoooorrrre.. Opps! Sorry, drifted off there!
Mind you, for brain munching, mind bending boredom, try the autoroute between Le Havre and Calais - no one on it, nothing to see and it takes forever, and for some strange reason, everytime we use it, some git keeps adding some more kms to it so it goes on a bit further...
