Hi Everybody,
Been on the IRC chatroom a few times, but this is my first post on the board. So Hiya!
Did anyone watch the Bush v Kerry debate on TV last night? (ok, ok, it was 3am but I couldn't sleep). Bush came across to me as a complete twit. I'm gobsmackingly amazed that the US public managed to elect him in the first place. Is there some weird democratic dynamic going on over there we don't know about, or do they really see Bush as a strong candidate? Christ, he's even ahead in the polls!
Ummm... I think it's John Kerry, not John Kelly.
No! Wait! apprently, the debate was between Bush and Matthew Kelly.
I totally agree its astounding that such an absolute and complete moroin is the most powerfull man in the world it beggers belief
Hi welcome to the forum by the way.
this is how he got to be president
Welcome roberto and thanks for posting something intelligent! and interesting.
The future of president of America will have a great relevance not just for this country but allso for the rest of the world, to ignore the presidential elections is very short sighted
Personally, I think that like Britain the US needs a change of leadership and within reason,, any change is better than no change!!
Once again Robertto welcome xxx
I think that they are both tossers! Most Americans I have met from the blue collar belt, do not have this god aweful attitude of how they are the worlds saviour and who must defend the world, and they talk about allies to help them keep the world free. I dont doubt they do a good job, but for firks sake you dont want to hear it day in day out...?
Sadly the president of the USA is having and will continue to have a direct impact on most of us in one aspect or another of our daily grasp of Foreign policy exhibits all the craft and subtlety of amputational surgery.
The world is undoubtedly a better place without Saddam Hussein, unfortunately it would be a much better place without George W Bush.
Do you think we should send the troops into America to depose him?
....and one day we will have Arnie to look up to
Just like every other faux political discussion ive heard there are always lots of people willing to criticise , in this case Bush ( albeit with identical platitudes to the ones they applied to his predecessor) . Fact is criticism is easy when you dont provide any solutions or constructive comment .
Shallow political comment is as worthless as part time religion and perhaps its best left un discussed here and better talked about where they have more motivation and actual knowledge of the subject .
Just an opinion of course .
Of course " safety " and freedom arent always bedfellows Foxy.
A change for the worse is not better than no change.
While bush comes across as a dummy it takes more than a small amount of intelligence and savvy to become a millionaire, and a lot more to become president. Obviously, communication is not his strong point, which makes people sneer at him....something I know a lot about. It's worth pointing out that many highly respected scientists come across as morons on tv...
Since we're on this subject, kerry looks a loser already. He comes across as an opportunist and vote chaser. Bush is already president and the public prefers a person who knows what's what anyway...bush has the history and the contacts, and since his family is strong in american politics, it seems that the odds favour him.
As for global warming, well, that depends on who and what you read.
Is global warming actually happening ?
Or is the CO2 levell rising because of global warming ?
Dunno.
