Any one knows of a plesant way to buy a used car in the north west. I'm fed up with pushy salesmen who always seem to pressure you and tell you all sort of crap like they think you've no intelligence.
Or is it me that's thick or paranoid or both. confused:
Ummm... well having some experience of pushy salesmen in the car industry, I'd say its not that easy in the North West to buy a used car without feeling somewhat pressurised by them. Mostly, I'd say that they're just doing their job the way they've been trained to do it, and if you can bear to sit through all the spiel they give you and then ask to be left alone to wander, you might just find something.
Failing that, enter one of the crappier gameshows, then you might win your BFH!!!
Hope this helps rolleyes
You're going to the wrong places mate.
I take it you've geen looking around the car supermarkets? Don't bother. They're there to sell you a credit agreement and not a carsad
Try smaller garages and forecourts. Buy an Autotrader and check out what's available and prices and don't forget your local free paper (usually rammed through the letterbox by some pizza-faced pubescent with headphones on). They're usually good for small garage ads.
Decide on what car you want and find as much out about it as you can. Common faults, service recalls etc. This will give you some barganing chips when you go out looking.
Try a local auction. You can pick up some bargins if you know what to look for.
Don't forget to look at the obvious stuff like the chassis number matching the paperwork etc.
Good hunting.
My two penneth worth, when you decide what make and model look for a forum online and talk to folk that already own a car like that. They'll be able to tell you the good the bad and the ugly sides of the relevant model and may save a lot of heart ache as well as giving you more ideas on things to look out for. Just a thought but i can bet it would help. biggrin

Try Dixons at the bottom of Granville Road, I got a good deal from there.
