My attempt not to rise to this has failed! mad
Dear makes me feel like I'm about 90... it's for old people... and I mean REALLY old!!!
Babes is another of my pet hates and to be honest hun doesn't really work for me either! I use sweetie and chick a lot and sometimes chuck but wouldn't be offended if someone said they didn't like it... I'd just stop using it! (unlike some!!) :P
Someone calls me cutie a lot and I kinda like that and someone else called me toots today which I kinda liked too. biggrin There are one or two others but I'll hang onto those ones!
There are others I detest but I'm not adding fuel to the fire!! wink

I personally melt when someone calls me "baby"

redface me too, and only one person does it. Don't think it would sound right from anyone else either.
One I use a lot is Chick confused
I use darling or sweetheart on the kids rolleyes
I do sometimes use the terms baby, babe, hun or sweetie and I don't mind anyone using the words on me. In fact if its the right person, baby can really make me smile biggrin
I hate Dear with a passion mad
Looks like everyone hates being called dear, good job i only use it when i'm being snide/patronising/tarty

Hmmmm, actually I think I quite like that too! Sounds much nicer than babe to me.
No-one calls me baby though sad

Always expect the person to do a dirty laugh afterwards, like that Tony Blackburn jingle years ago
Likewise, I can't say it without rounding off with a terrible impression of the jingle confused
Babe - I love being called that. But as much as I love being called Babe, I hate being called Babes!! Haven't a clue why, just sounds odd as a plural :? dunno
Mind you, the opposite can be said for "Big Tits", which is an observation, and Big Tit, which is an insult :?
I do use terms of endearment, hunny, gorgeous, flower ..... flunny (when I start off with one word and accidently end it with another rolleyes )

ha! That took me right back!

One of my favourite people calls me his 'little fish' in English or Italian depending on mood.
Makes me smile.
Quote by Darkfire
I've noticed that on here, in text or pm etc I call people I'm familiar with 'hun' ...but its not something I say verbally much dunno Sweetie, Chick and 'Toots' (:dunno: :lol2smile are one's I say quite often along with Luv and Duckie which everyone else finds really annoying :lol2:

Oh yes!
Funny how some words just tickle you. Ok ok, so I have learnt a new word today. Off to find me a woman
bolt
ahh errr, I need to get my dialogue right though. I can imagine being there in that moment of passion, whisperping in her ear, "would you mind calling me toots"
Maybe not ..........
Anwyay for me, the worst has got to be Babe, its a grrring moment for me. All I can think about is that poxy little pig when I get called it.
Ooh and "Pet", especially by women serving you in a shop.
As for terms of endearment, I dont suppose I need any. It is enough for me just to look into someone's eyes, sometimes there are just no words ...... redface
