yup, will defo be going to download again this year
2B2H never misses the rock festivals (he even preferes them to glasto)
we've camped for the full weekend both times......
....but this time its on for 3 days yay
rock 'n rolla

Yep, was at the first Download but as I only live in Leicester, I didn't camp. I have talked with others from this site before about the next one and some expressed an interest in going. Perhaps some may want to meet up with others from the site for a get together at the event.

i saw sheep on drugs acouple of yrs ago may of even been last yr hmmm
it was very different to the times before that Duncan X had quit but was there on stage dancing while all his vocals where played via sample's
never did figure that out

Yes, I went to one of those shows in London, very odd, and hugely disappointing. Lee is now going solo, having dropped the other vocalists that were tried out. I'll buy the new album, but I'm not sure I'll bother seeing him live.
Oh, if you have the single "15 minutes of fame" you can play guess which one of the photos is me :-)

Well you're quite right Debbie, Sabbath, Led Zepp and Floyd, Hendrix, The Who, Cream are what I call rock and were musical innovators in their day, just as a lot of other bands are now. In fact those older bands are still cited as being an influence on today's bands so effect there is a sort of continuum of musical influence, one which I can appreciate as I have seen rock grow and change over the years. I like a lot of new bands and appreciate how things have progressed and developed. That's down to a lot of new technology, diverse influences and artistic innovation. I see no difference really, other than different sounds. It's all good!

Motorhead
Black Sabbath
AC/DC
The Ramones
The Hamsters
Jethro Tull
Steeleye Span - Went to see the 35th Aniversary Concert in December
Fairport Convention
The Levellers.
Anyone who can play really smile
Can I go back to the original question and ask.... are we talking Punk or New Punk?
Got to agree with Debbiewebs on this one , up to a point........ certainly, Sabbath (in their various guises) , Floyd - both with and without Roger Waters and the many lineups that Deep Purple brought us, a rock family tree in their own right. Did I forget Led Zeps???.....Shame on me.
More recently i've listened to a little Coal Chamber, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, saw them at NEC, excellent but boy was did i feel out of it in t-shirt and jeans biggrin Also some Korn, Cradle of Filth, QOTSA, System of a Down, Fear Factory (seen these live - awesome!!)
Also went to Download last year to see Korn especially, brill, but drifted off to one of the other tents when Metallica came on to take in The Suicide Girls- what a let-down that was!!!!!.....shan't make that mistake again . Not what i expected at all.
One of the best gigs has got to be Deep Purple at Sheffield City Hall. The small venue
really brought out the best in the music, or so i thought anyway.
I also guess that my nick gives away the fact that I'm a Bowie fan , since the early 70's in fact. He never ceases to amaze me, his music has been constantly awesome, and his live performances leave you wishing the night will never end. But thats just my personal choice , to each his/her own smile
Keep on rocking in the free world
i dont know you go off on business for a few days and there's suddenly a great thread about music. I am really into punk metal rock etc biggrin its great to see so many other members enjoy such a great range of music. The new album is good, but I think the earlier stuff was better. Anyone ever heard of Accept ? They were around in the 80's, very good metal band.
I also like trance, like Dj Tiesto and Paul van Dyk
I was a goth in my teens (20 years ago  ) and am still a big metal/industrial/goth metal fan amongst other things. I'm also a big APC fan. I rock! lol
P.S. Not convinced that the most recent Rammstein is as good as previous albums, just my opinion though!
Warming the Bed

I think we talked before on here about NiN's new album...
yeah I was a "practicing" Goth and Punk riot grrrrl thru high school to college. But while I still love the music, indeed I love all kinds of music (was just listening to my London after Midniight cd the other day..) I don't dress the part. mainly cos I just don't have the time in the mornings...
you should see my prom pics tho...
Very old punk here. Joe Strummer RIP gave me a can of beer once lol Still can't believe some of the old bands are still going like the UK subs. I also like the Sisters of Mercy saw their last great concert at the Albert Hall and I really love Depeche Mode.
