Cardiff/Bristol munch ? Feelers going out...

Right, there is a serious shortage of munches around my way and I am here to address that :P
I haven't posted this in LMU as I have no definate venue etc yet and am just hoping to get an idea of numbers of people that would be interested in attending a munch in Cardiff/Bristol.
I have chosen the date as April 22nd 2006 as the calendar is pretty chocka until then(and Easter is 15th) -but it's still only 6 months away.
Hopefully I can leave this thread run for a week or so to get an idea of the level of interest etc and then I can post an 'official' thread in LMU.
So, it's over to you lot-I would prob lean towards Bristol as the location as it's easy to get too for peeps from both side of the border. I would prefer to go for a private function room (although this could incur a small cost to attendees) with a disco (any DJ's want to volunteer their services?) and possibly a fancy dress theme?
It looks like a lots of probably's and maybe's at the moment, but I am comitted to doing this and I would welcome any suggestions to venues that members could recommend or tips from any previous organisers.

I wont commit myself at the mo, but im not against being there, i have 6 months to get all my innocculations sorted, as visiting foreign countries can be a bit hazardous, but yeah, put my name down as a provisional smile

Ask Sarah about the place I looked at in Cardiff as a suitable venue for a munch .... would love to come up to the Welsh borders for fun lol

I can't say with any certainty what I'll be doing next April, but I'll check Mrs. DP's course schedule and if that's a weekend she's in Brum I'd head down with here and make the additional trek over to Bristol/Cardiff.
I do know a reasonably cheap venue in central Bristol with a 2am licence, that could certainly hold 100 people, not sure what the exact capacity is. It's not exactly salubrious, but I can let you know the details by PM if you like. They regularly host Goth gigs and similar events so a bunch of SH people is unlikely to appear even vaguely weird.

Either city sounds good, though Bristol is easier for those from the far South West. Maybe Gloucester as an inbetweener. (nice place is Gloucester) ....

:happy: Ooh! We'd def be interested! Sadly we'll have to miss Olive's Isle of Wight one earlier in April (son's 21st birthday) so hopefully we can make this one instead biggrin

If you're going to go with a theme or fancy dress, will it be compulsory? Jon hates that sort of thing and I'd *hate* to have to leave him at home :lol2: wink
